Axed Apprentice 2013 candidate Jaz Ampaw-Farr has blamed her exit on her rival hopefuls spending so much time on their appearance.
Jaz became the first candidate to get fired in last night’s Apprentice 2013 results, following a task which saw the teams have to sell a range of goods to the trade.
Speaking after her exit, Jaz admitted she had her worries from the moment the show began.
“Everyone was glamorous, it was like The Only Way Is The Apprentice. I guess people get dolled up when they know they are going to be on telly,” she recalled. “When the candidates were coming in to reception, I remember thinking, ‘Please don’t let me have the biggest bum out of this group of women… ’ but everyone was so skinny and gorgeous.
“I got my shoes from Marks & Spencer with a 1½in heel and I thought I was glammed up!”
In an interview with The Sun, Jaz suggested she was hampered on the task by the other candidates focusing too much on their appearance.
She explained: “I did say to them, ‘If we spent a little less energy on focusing on how we look and a little more energy on focusing on how we sell… we might do better’. But there is that pressure that the camera is on you, and everyone is thinking, ‘I’ve got to get my lipstick on’.
“I don’t normally wear make-up. In a room where I’m the normal one, you’re going to have some pretty bizarre characters.”
