View Full Version : Notifications...
When you see you have a notification on here do you check it straight away or just leave it until you can be bothered? or does it take you ages to even notice you have a notification?
Straight away cos I feel special
Vicky.

Takes me ages to realise I have one usually.

Check it straight away and reply, nothing worse than thinking somebody is ignoring you because they can't be bothered to check their notifications!
Marsh.

Check it straight away. No problem noticing it because a '1' sticks out immediately because it's on '0' so much.
Sounding a bit lonely there Marsh, I will spam your wall later if you like.
And I sometimes take a while to notice them and also because I had some ghost notifications for a while if I do see a 1 there I sometimes think it's just that...

Still, my point is valid
Check them straight away, always hope it's a PM with some good gossip in but it's normally just a visitor message from Josy posting a stupid picture or Marc talking about Pointless
I sometimes check them and leave it ages before replying though, then I end up forgetting so I feel like a rude bastard. I often just leave social group invitations as well because I hate joining groups but don't have the heart to reject the invitation

You are a rude bastard Matt, send you a pm and you reply about a week later tbh.

Straight away - and then if it's a Private Mail, I know it's an infraction so I just roll my eyes and call the moderators dickheads or something, and then I'll check it later.
If it's a Social Group Invite or Friend Request, I'll leave it for weeks cus Idc.
If it's a Wall Post then I'm like :D
A PM coming Patrick's way

PMs come up different to notifications.
Or at least they do for me...I get a popup box thing saying I have a PM, whereas visitor messages just go into a little [1] on notifications :suspect:

They don't come up different for me, how have you managed to get a more efficient notification system than me

I read and usually answer it, if it requires an answer, as soon as I see it.
If someone has taken the trouble to contact me for any reason,I think it is the right and decent thing to do to make it a priority to read and deal with.

Check it straight away or I'll read a thread or two and then check it. Reply as soon as I see it 99% of the time.

I check them the moment I realise I have one. And I reply immediately unless I'm busy with something else.
Also I've got a ghost notification, it went away for a couple of days last year and then came back.

I remember the good old days when I'd have about a million msgs waiting for me when I'd log on, but then only have one pm from Ammi waiting. She's moved on to younger, more impressionable, and generally nicer fm's like Drew these days.
Now I just spend my time refreshing the page in hope that someone will make contact.
