I have to admit, I am a bus snob. I would rather walk for two and a half hours than get a bus, but that's just my opinion. The article linked above it quite interesting!

Yeah, totally agree. I think I pissed my auntie off the other day when I told her buses are 'for the great unwashed'.. she then turned round and told me that she uses the bus regularly.

"queuing in the rain for the number 24" - says it all - why would anyone want to do that every week ..... :conf2:

I like getting a bus, I can read and relax.

However there can be dodgy people on them from time to time.

Meh if it was the option of walking 2 hours or a bus, I'd get the bus. I haven't got time to walk places :idc:

Yes I can see why the act of getting on a bus, paying the fare, and then getting off at your chosen stop, can be a very confusing concept

the only annoying/awkward thing is not knowing the particular place you want to get off at

I don't mind buses at all, in fact when I use them it is amazing sometimes the people you get to talk to as well.
I'd prefer, simply for convenience, not to have to use them but if I need to, I quite enjoy it.

Buses have numbers. How do people know what number bus to get on? Apparently you need the exact money.. What happens if you don't have the exact money? Do you get thrown off? It seems to be bus etiquette to stand up and make your way to the front of the bus before your stop.. What if you fall? What if you don't know where you've to get off?
It's all just too much for me

You go to the bus stop and look at the bus schedule, it will display which bus goes where. They let you off by 20 odd pence but yeah, you need the right amount of money otherwise you won't be going anywhere lol. And when you press stop, you just wait till the bus stops at your correct stop, get up and walk to the door. And if you don't know where your stop is then you shouldn't really be on a bus :p

Oh Jesus Christ lol.... the bus schedule normally has a straight line map showing which places it is stopping at... if the place you need is there, bingo, if not, cross the road and try the other side

A bit yeah. On the way home from my blood test yesterday I saw people waiting for a bus and was going to shout The Inbetweeners line, 'BUS WANKERS'... I failed to do so then a few seconds later I see the traffic lights are on red. Breathed a sigh of relief.

The reason they are so long is because you don't know where you're getting off

Hahaha.. True

No, but I'm ok if it's only going to one destination as I know there's no danger of me making an arse of myself trying to get off

I don't mind taking a bus around the City or West End, but not around where I live. Buses in the countryside are as rare as hen's teeth anyway, and I'm five miles away from the nearest regular bus route.

If I couldn't afford cabs anymore I'd rather buy a bicycle than take the bus. Buses are not for me.

Although if we had those open top double decker kind like London, I might give it a shot, at least I could smoke.

I use busses all the time, but I suppose that's mainly because there's really good service within London. If I didn't live in London/have TFL at my disposal, then I'd walk to places a lot more probably.

to be fair, I don't think you'll meet very many bus snobs on the bus... that's kind of the point... stick to your buses girl, you go.

I think some people enjoy "ghetto" experiences, and some people don't enjoy those "urban" type of things. Everyone's different, it's okay. We're all different, it's okay. Some people are more comfortable with certain things than others. There's nothing wrong with that.

i walk all the time when i should get the bus. i use them sometimes though but i hate them far too expensive for jouney's you could so easily walk. and lucky if get a seat somedays

they used to be good though to meet girls but now people just sit on there and look at their phones like zombies than chat to others.
