Everton have been a revelation when compared to the Moyes years. They look like a good attacking side. They are in a position to kick on next season. Arsenal are a strange one. we have absolutely everything in place for our manager to succeed. The reputation, the money, the infrastructure, the youth academy, the stadium but our manager seems content with 4th place and reaching the quarters of every completion and I'm frankly sick of his recent bullsh*t in the transfer market.. ts time someone else had a shot

To comment on Wengers tactical prowess. He's always been a bit inept tactically . Its not his strength and it never has been. Wengers gets average players to play well and good players to play great. Tactics are a distraction for Wenger. Its yet another reason why we need to acknowledge that other managers are passing him on the way up but he's still earning much more than them.

Everton aren't suddenly world beaters  Moyes will want to do anything not to lose against them, especially twice this season.

You'd of thought he'd want to do that against Liverpool and City. Look how that turned out.

Do not rely on the bottler that is David Moyes, especially seeing as though our season is basically over in the league.

Theres a part of me that would welcome Europa league football next year. Firstly, I think we would have a decent chance of winning it and the Champions league is just way too far off for us again. Secondly, here is frankly no point in us entering cuz we have no chance of progressing past the 1/4's. We would be in that competition for the money alone. And, finally it would stir the sh*t storm, for sure, and maybe changes will be made.

Arsenal eye move for Southampton's Calum Chambers with continuing doubts over future of Bacary Sagna

Great player & potential but not sure if he's ready to replace Sagna.

Also linked with Cleverley...

I remember the Twitter rumour back last year of Arsenal bidding £25 million for Cleverley in January. http://i.imgur.com/PeNjRKC.gif

Ryan57
23-04-2014, 11:02 PM
Knowing our luck, he'll get back to how he was before. The old Cleverley and Wilshere would be an amazing combination.

Drew.

We were also linked with Fellaini really strongly.. Wenger knows best in the end.

Ryan57
23-04-2014, 11:09 PM
If he goes anywhere it'll probably be Everton. And I bet he does well there.

And yeah, rumours that you'd triggered the £22 million clause in Fellaini's contract. Turned out untrue, you lucky bastards. £22 million was a rip off, let alone the £28 mil we paid.

Drew.
23-04-2014, 11:15 PM
The only ex player i'd welcome back is Cesc.. looks like United still want him though and now Barca have had their transfer ban uplifted & with the fans against him it wouldn't surprise me if that happened.

Drew.
23-04-2014, 11:16 PM
Think we have a buy-back clause on Cesc actually, Can't see it happening though.

Ryan57
23-04-2014, 11:17 PM
FFS! Knew it'd get suspended. Would love Cesc, but he seems one of the few loyal players still around.

And yeah, you have first choice.

Brings back awful memories of last summer. Opening bid of £25 million, FML.

Drew.
23-04-2014, 11:21 PM
I don't even think he's all that happy over at Barca at the moment either, after all the fuss about wanting to go home its all gone wrong for him. There would definitely be more chance of him moving compared to last year though.

Fabregas to Liverpool

Ryan57
23-04-2014, 11:24 PM
Rumours of Barca telling him he can go a few days back. Would take a massive bid from ourselves, if in the unlikely event Arsenal don't want him, as you get half of any profit made on him.

Daniel Taylor was talking about how Moyes had a reputation as "Dithering Dave" who would go from target to target in the window without ever really knowing how he wanted until having a paniclate...basically what happened to our summer. Supposedly also Woodward took the fall for him during the summer window intentionally. Could just be Woody leakign **** himself, but I'll hope it's true and he has a better Summer.

The likes of Messi and Iniesta rubbing shoulders with Joseph Allen and Jordan Henderson.

Not sure if it's a mistake, but he said Arsenal offered him a 3 year deal. Which seemed weird for someone his age, then someone tweeted 'what happened to Wenger's 1 year and rolling for over 30's?'.

Ryan57

So Ian Wright said some days back that you should sign Hernandez from us.

Always thought he'd be a pretty good signing for you with the pace of Walcott and Ox either side of him would be scary. And he's a clinical goalscorer. Although his ball control isn't exactly upto Arsenal standards.

Drew.
25-04-2014, 08:27 PM
Walcott, Hernandez, Ox & Ozil behind them would be a scary amount of pace  Ozil playing Ox & Walcott in down the wings for them to whip in for Hernandez to get on the end of.

Drew.
28-04-2014, 03:58 PM
Looks like they will be snapping up Falcao this summer so it is looking pretty likely Benzema will be on his way out, I'd take him in an instant but it wouldn't surprise me if Mourinho went for him.. Probably the best striker available to him.

Both and sell us back CR7 :idc:

Yeah he's not really a player we need, we need someone that'll just sit in front of the defence and defend, he would fit in perfectly against mid table sides when we don't need to bother about defending much. I would love to have him back though.

Arsenal are in a weird position, FA final obviously could end a barren 9 year trophy-less seasons.

However, it masks the fact that once again Arsenal (or Arsenal London as I like to call them) have clinches 4th champions league spot as rivals ie Everton slipped up which is what's happened for last few seasons. Remember a couple of seasons back when Spurs were 7 points ahead in 4th place and they imploded (Arsenal coming back from 2-0 down to win 5-2, Redknapp touting for England job, then court case etc).

Next season the chasing pack will be better and more competitive a rejuvenated Man U will bein top 4, Everton will improve, Southampton matured and even Spurs and Newcastle could scrap it out for a EUROPA Cup spot if they get new management and some cash. Arsenal had better watch it.

I don't think we need to watch it at all. Everyone seems to forget we were cruising at the top of the league for months with a consistant 5 point lead. It's only when 4/5 of our starting 11 and best players all got injured around the same period that we dropped off. We have the squad to compete already, just need more depth and more tactics going into the bigger games.

But other teams have also had injuries/ missing players due to excessive ear biting etc and stayed in title race.

The reality Arsenal's squad is far too small and a few injuries cripples the team. Yet Wenger would rather discuss anything not directly related to Arsenal* than splash out (I bet it was the board begging Wenger to "treat" himself to Mesut Ozil :joker:)

You can't compare our situation to any other club.. Non of the other top 4/5 clubs have had injuries all going on at one time. We have spent half of the season at the top of the league with an almost fully fit squad, twice as long as any other side. We were cruising until Ramsey, Ozil, Wilshere and Walcott got injured around the same time and these were all bad injuries, not just a week or two out. Ox and Koscielny were also out for periods. Its like taking Silva, Yaya, Kompany and Aguero or Gerrard, Sturridge, Suarez and Skrtel all out at once.

Not really arrogant, I'm sure both clubs are making these sort of preparations seeing as it wouldn't be feasible to arrange everything in the less than 24 hours between the result being known and any victory parade

Liverpool had made their plans for potential title celebrations a couple of weeks before the end of the season as well

Every club going into a final or even last day of the season with a shot at winning the league like Liverpool and City both have to be prepared for the celebrations after.. Shirts, flags, bus etc. If you go around flaunting these before you've even won like Liverpool fans did wearing League Winners shirts then that's arrogant.

Not a chance, 99% of Arsenal fans wanted Ramsey gone after he looked like he had lost it completely after his broken leg and Wenger refused to get rid of him and now he owes Arsene. Hes probably the most genuine guy in the league and loves this club & Arsene.

Chile international striker Alexis Sanchez has agreed to join Arsenal Football Club on a long-term contract for an undisclosed fee.
Sanchez, 25, joins Arsenal from Barcelona where he made a total of 88 appearances, scoring 39 goals during his three seasons with the Catalan side.

Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger said: “As many people have seen during the World Cup this summer, Alexis is a fantastic footballer and we are delighted that he is joining us at Arsenal Football Club.
“Alexis will add power, creativity and much quality to our squad and we are all looking forward to him joining up with us in a few weeks. He has consistently produced top-quality performances at the highest level for a number of seasons now and we are all excited to see him integrate into the Arsenal squad. I’m sure all Arsenal supporters will join me in welcoming Alexis to our club.”

Sanchez said: “I’m so happy to be joining Arsenal, a club which has a great manager, a fantastic squad of players, huge support around the world and a great stadium in London. I’m looking forward to meeting my new team-mates and to be playing for Arsenal in the Premier League and Champions League. I will give my best to Arsenal and want to make all the supporters happy.”

It is a HUGE step, Not only is it another world class player in the side but Ozil is going to be twice as good next season with Sanchez playing in front. Massive signing on so many different levels, and he rejected Liverpool to come to us, amazing.

http://metro.co.uk/2014/07/16/mesut-ozil-makes-incredible-gesture-after-donating-world-cup-bonus-to-brazilian-projects-4800500/

Mesut Ozil may be criticised for not seemingly caring much at times but the Germany star has to be praised for his latest gesture – after reportedly donating his £240,000 World Cup winnings to projects in Brazil.

The Germany players were each promised the hefty sum ahead of the tournament if they won the competition in Brazil, which they achieved thanks to Mario Gotze’s extra-time goal against Argentina at the Maracana last week.

And Ozil has now decided to donate his bonus for a good cause after the Arsenal star’s representative told AP that the 25-year-old had given his money to ‘projects in Brazil.’

Reports had earlier claimed that the midfielder – who is of Turkish descent and a practising Muslim – had donated the money to the children of Gaza, but, his representative has since denied the story.

bless him

Apparently the whole German team have been super-generous with building hospitals, training facilities etc in Brazil during their stay, hence why the Brazilians weren't quite so angry about losing to them.

Algeria donated all of their team bonus ($9m :o) to Gaza too. Why doesn't this get more coverage instead of the standard UGH RICH OVERPROTECTED NANCIES stuff :(
