BGT Final to air a week later [+ first live show of The Voice moves to a Friday]

Looks like BGT's semi-finals will run half term week (as I thought they would), but the final may air a week later on Saturday 8th June.

Monday 27 May - Live show 1: 7.30 - 9pm. Results show 9.30 - 10pm
Tuesday 28 May - Live show 2: 7.30 - 9pm. Results show 9.30 - 10pm
Thursday 30 May - Live show 3: 7.30 - 9pm. Results show 9.30 - 10pm
Friday 31 May - Live show 4: 7.30 - 9pm. Results show 9.30 - 10pm

I assume the last semi-final will air on Saturday 1st.

The live shows then continue Week 23: Sat 1 - Fri 7 June (times tbc)

Meaning I'm guessing there'd be a weeks gap between the last semi-final on the 1st and the final on the 8th. An interesting decision, it'll either kill the momentum or help build it. One thing is for certain is that the finalists will have more time to prepare new routines, so that's one good thing to come out of it.

Also...as a result of this, The Voice have decided to air their first live show on Friday 7th June, at these times:

Friday 07/06 - 19:00 to 21:00
Friday 07/06 - 21:30 to 22:00

Which is either gonna work to both shows advantage or completely backfire.

I think The Voice doing that is the safest option, they still won't get massive ratings, but they'd get like 3 million airing on the BGT final, despite slaying it :bored:

It was an idea being floated around on DS but I wasn't sure it was one they'd take. It'll be interesting to see the ratings result.

This also means like I said in the thread I made the other day that BB can launch the first week of June. Not necessarily will, but it can.

It makes sense to do this. I always thought it was unfair on the people who got through on the last semi final and had literally a day of rehearsals before the final.

I doubt they'd go up against The Voice though, could always launch on Thursday 6th (a date which is being suggested today) and Friday's highlights could be at 10pm as soon as The Voice is over.
