I thought that sheriff but someone else would also need to be able to talk to them (to prove its not just an act) or else no-one would believe you then it's not as unique so your earning potential goes down...

you could easily prove it by asking the animal to do some things for you like pretend to be asleep roll over and other commands.:hugesmile:

But animals can be trained to do things like that anyway with noise commands so it wouldn't prove you were actually communicating in their language.

if you get random animals to do things then that proved you have not trained them plus loads of people would want prove you wrong and then it would just snowball.
people claim to talk to dead people with out proof and people still pay!

I'd deffo go with being able to converse naturally with all humans in all languages. That is a true gift, and one that cannot be learned, truly or thoroughly, in a single lifetime.

Animals, even if you don't speak the language as another person there's quite a lot of ways you can still communicate with them, and you wouldn't really learn anything new about humans in general from knowing every language, being able to talk to animals would have much bigger implications

Oh I dare bet animals would have a great deal to say,(and likely far more sense at times too than humans), which is why I would choose that for me, to be able to talk to animals.
That would be a real gift to be able to do in my opinion.
Whereas we can if we really desire to, set out to learn other languages anyway.

Speak every language in the world. You'd be invaluable as there are plenty of dying languages. Would you be able to speak lost languages too? Or only languages that are currently spoken in the world just now? You'd be able to communicate with uncontacted peoples (not that they necessarily want to be disturbed) and you could go anywhere in the world and never feel lost... I'd love that.
