What's your honest opinion on drinking alcohol?
do you or have you ever had a problem with alcohol in the sense of drinking to much on a daily basis?
Have you witnessed someone with a drinking problem, do you know anyone that has died thru drinking long term or an accidental drink related death?
a lady I knew from school told me one day that she had to take control of her life as drink had become a problem in her life!
she joined aa and would give me updates on the support and things that went on at the meetings, aa do things like a buddy system for when things get bad and there is someone you can talk to that knows what you are going thru,
its been twelve years now and my good friend is still sober,
what do you lot think about drink?

No thankfully nobody I know has a major drink problem.. I know loads of people who have had one too many on occasion though including myself, I know my limits now and I hate being hungover so I rarely over do it now.
My aunt died of alcohol abuse. I don't think I'm ever capable of drinking too much on a regular basis, I feel sicky after just a few on a night out so I find it hard to push through and get horrendously drunk. Which I value rather than see as an annoyannce

I know people who have drinking problems. Some will say they are just going to have a couple but end up really having a lot, just cannot stop themselves sadly.
I rarely drink, I can say I am having one drink and that is that. I am glad I can too.
I like to know what I'm doing and saying so make sure I am control.
I always get my own drinks too, especially while at Uni because I have seen stronger drinks added to weaker drinks when others go for a 'round' of drinks.

I have a friend who was an alchoholic,he came off the wagon several times, went to AA all the usual things,he could never quite kick it though,it took away his job, home wife and kids,he had it all and lost it all,he now is in remission from throat cancer, has had some of his neck removed,so for me drink is just a demon,a much worse drug than most other things and it's so easy to get.
I have such a headache right now from drinking too much earlier :p
:( Sounds awful Kazanne.. must be really difficult for you as a friend to not be able to do anything (well you can but not physically stop them)

My mum is an alcoholic so at the moment I'm watching her kill herself with drink. I've tried everything with her, but I think sometimes there's no saving people.

We've all tried Marc, but nothing seems to stop him on his road to destruction, such a shame as he is an intelligent well educated man,and only in his early 40s,but looks much older.
