I think it's more than justified. The WOW factor sort of ran out for it, once you'd seen one headbanger, you'd seen them all.
SCD still has gained some momentum over the years, which is interesting.

Jayne Torvill said this:
"We have other plans to do other projects so we are excited about that but I have to say the experience of Dancing on Ice has been absolutely fantastic for us.''

I used to think that DOI was OK, however it has been gradually getting worse and worse each year.

It has slipped over the last 2 years but I am disappointed it is finishing completely. I think it still had a number of series in it yet.
Surely Torvill and Dean could have had a far lesser role as to it but the programme continue.
Decision is made I guess but for me it is a pity.
I will watch it next year then because they got to do something big

'We want Kylie and Beckham' - Torvill and Dean's Dancing On Ice dream duo
It's too early to say which celebrities will join them for the final series but they have their dream list.
"I've got my eye on David Beckham because he's retiring and he'll need a job," laughs Jayne.
"Maybe Kylie Minogue might want to do the show," wonders Chris.
"And we can get Sir Alex Ferguson as a judge."
Their team is already contacting possible contestants for the series, they say.
It doesn't spell the end for Torvill and Dean as they have other projects they will be looking at together.

Who would like David Beckham, Kylie Minogue and Sir Alex Ferguson to be on Dancing On Ice?
I know they probably wouldn't but it would be great if they did go on Dancing On Ice! :D

I wasn't surprised when I heard this yesterday, the show got too predictable and Christopher Dean turned into such an asshole it was unbearable to watch.

I used to really enjoy DOI, although like many other ITV shows such as X Factor and Britain's Got Talent (to a certain extent) it's got a bit boring and the format has been dragged out a bit too far.
No doubt a new ice skating show will turn up in a few years time. But as far as DOI is concerned, I think they've made a good decision on having next year as the last series.

Karissa and Kristina's last chance, then. Bet ITV wouldn't be able to afford their fees, though.
Imo, they started to mess too much with a good format, changing things that didn't need changing, just to get desired/preffered results. If they had left more or less well be, then the show could have lasted a few more years yet. But more than any other of this type of show, it became way more about the judges than the contestants, it also tended to concentrate on the inevitable romances that emerged from the show rather than the ice skating side, especially pushing such stories if it involved a favourite contestant as was evident from the last show. Thankfully that backfired on them.
I used to love watching this show, but it has become more of a chore to watch it now, rather than a joy. I watch it just hoping that it gets back on track so I can enjoy it again, but that's not going to happen. So maybe now is the right time for the show to bow out.
