How do you cook them? I always cook steak, lamb chops and things in the griddle pan, but I always just cook PC's in the oven as I'm weary about under cooking them. Unfortunately, this really dries them out.
How do you cook yours?
Niamh.

How long do you cook each side, then how long in the oven?
I know that a nice thick steak is 2 mins each side, but PC's are difficult to judge.

Oh, Oh... and sexist. Just noticed the title.
Sexist thread
You probably already ate them by now but if you are sick of them drying up or just want a change try this...my OH loves when I make them this way:
Put them in a casserole dish, cut some onions up and add them on top then mix up an oxo cube with water (I use 2) and pour over the chops and onions to cover then add it to a preheated oven for about 45 mins, turn the chops over and put them back in the oven until you see the fluid thickening up a little bit and they will be lovely cooked and tender.
I'm going to try that Josy it sounds yummy!
Sexist.. but all of the women have answered and helped

Its a good one to make when you cant be bothered standing in the kitchen cooking for ages too, just add it to the oven and let it cook away on it's own

Thanks for that. Don't you find that the gravy is really fatty? I have eaten them now but I may well give that a try next time.
I covered them in honey last night before shoving them in the oven, and I ended up just ruining a baking tray as it had runny honey welded to it.
Is Girth a woman? :suspect:
Nope but women love GiRTh

Do you brown them in a pan first?
Oh, I've just remembered something my mum used to do with pork chops.. Can't remember exactly, but they were done in cider and had crispy cheese and breadcrumbs on top. God they were good!!

Nah it doesnt turn out that fatty, I try to use chops that have hardly any fat on them though.
And you could have got that honey off your baking tray with cola.

No I don't Lee, I tried that before though and OH said he preferred them without being browned first but I suppose it depends on what you like.

You have to go with the frying method if you want them to be as tasty as possible. Not as healthy though! ;) My fav is breading them in Panko crumbs(Google it), with a light egg wash to make it all stick, and some thyme, and whatever spices you like, and then a bit of olive(or whatever oil you prefer) in the pan. Heat each side 7 minutes, turning only once. That's for chops a half inch or 3/4s. Thinner chops take less time.
Also, I carve off the fat from around the edges a bit if I find the butcher has done a **** job, but definitely leave some or most on, otherwise you won't get the flavor intended. Gl, and PM if you want some of my recipes.

Just the way American say things like this makes it sound yummy, here we would say dip your pork chop in beaten egg, definately not as good as an egg wash.

I've just checked and seems like this had basis in science, Josy. I quite want to burn something now, so I can try it.

I covered them in honey and cooked them in the oven. I tend to over-cook meat that you can't eat bloody.

..yeah, my OH tends to do that..I think he's so worried about food poisoning if it isn't completely cooked, so he cooks it far too long and the boys always roll their eyes because it's usually unedible..I don't actually eat meat but I think I probably cook it ok because I only have to look at some of his over-cooked stuff to see that it isn't the best....
..was it good with the honey..did you put anything else on..?...

It was as good as over-cooked pork covered in honey can ever be, really. My sister gave me a recipe that I'll try next time. She roasts some small new potatoes, tomatoes, and mushrooms, then covers the chops in pesto and cooks them on top of the other stuff.
I'll still over cook them, but the rest of it sounds really nice.

That was Novo's baby, and I couldn't compete with the genius that was chicken wings with bbq sauce, or biscuits with butter and cheese.
I may show the result of the pesto pork chops though.
