View Full Version : Could you ever do a Chandler and Monica?
Regardless of your sexual preference - could you turn a friendship into a relationship, or would you be too scared of it not working out and losing a friend?

i couldn't, it'd be like dating a sister without the biological-ness..tried it once, horrible (not my sister, a friend, yeah, cleared that up, ok)

depends how close we were originally.. not if it would feel like dating a sister like Nathan said

See, I've always known if I was straight, me and my best girl-friend would be dating... but I suppose I still could with one of my guy friends who was gay and we were close without dating.
I'd feel so awkward and horrible. I mean Drew is like a brother to me

I did. For a few months..we decided it wasnt right and are still best mates now. Never made anything awkward.

I did for 4 years. Things are weird now. I wouldn't recommend it.

It depends because if it's a flirty friendship then yeah, I'd love to fall in love with my best friend, but if it was like a best friend/sibling type relationship than probably not

I wouldn't rule it out, but if it were someone in a group of friends rather than a good friend I've known for a while (kinda independent from everyone else) I'd definitely worry about the breakup.

I'd have to give it a go. You have to put yourself out there and take risks. Bad breakups happen regardless of previous friendships, so throw yourself in head first, and whatever happens is going to happen.

Definitely. Look at television, all the best couples start out as friends.

Erm, have done it and it wasn't ever really right, so it depends on how close we were

I think I could. But I wouldn't want to do a "Chandler and Monica" if I was the Chandler with some moany old bitch/manbitch as the Monica (seriously watch any episode from Season 7-10 and watch how controlling she is)

I could if we both wanted to, and of course it's a gamble but isn't all relationships? I just hope that none of this happens to me too soon though.:joker:

You lie!
Television is based on life. I'm sure there's great couples in real life who started out as friends.
Has multiquoting gone on here? I pay attention.
