After how fast Round 1 went this year, it's just time for a change. I've decided that next time around, Round 1 will be open for a week, and then Round 2 will be open for a week. Round 1, the users with the most nominations will make up the top 50. For example, say 43 users receive 4 or more nominations, and then 18 users have 3 nominations at the end of Round 1, there are obviously 7 spots left to fill and 18 users all eligible. Then I would go to the first come first served rule and the first 7 users to have gained 3 sets of nominations would take the spots, though obviously there's still scope for more than 50 to qualify if someone gave more than one user their third nomination and they had the deciding nomination.

This way is much fairer. There's still the importance of getting your nominations in quickly, but it means that people aren't screwed out of participating by virtue of not being voted for quickly enough. Similarly, Round 2 will only be open for a week to speed things up. If you give people 2 weeks to vote, some people will take 2 weeks to vote, and it doesn't need to be open for that long.

I've also been given a heads up regarding other users trying to fix nominations in Round 1. If I had been made aware of this earlier, I would have been able to do something about it, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. Hopefully this new system will go some way in preventing situations like that from happening again. In future, if I can prove that people have been vote fixing or I'm sent evidence of people vote fixing, I'll just void those users' nominations/votes in future. I'll speak about this more in the countdown thread but I'm a bit disappointed more than anything.

Aren't alot of people guilty of this indirectly though , like vote for so and so they so deserve it, they need to be in the top 50 etc, all fair's in love and war I say, as only three noms were needed to get in, I hold my hands up to wanting Chuff in the final 50!

There are alot of people including Sooty who should make the list for their sheer contribution to the forum, BBFan1991, Girth, Reece should have made it, Mockinator, loads of people. I'm glad Omah and Chuff made it, both contribute loads, even if people don't agree with their views, they make the forum an interesting place.

I'd also like to remind everyone how tie-breaks work in Most Loved. Round 2 points carry more weight than Round 1; so if two users have the same total number of points but one of them has more points than the other in Round 2, then the user with more Round 2 points will rank higher than the user who had more points in Round 1. If users have the same amount of points in both rounds, then they will be considered tied for a position and their paragraphs will be posted together. Thankfully there's only one tied position like this in this countdown, though there are many cases of users having the same total points but different amounts in different rounds.

I am still reeling from my great mate on here, The Mockinator, not there this time after soaring to 15th last time,(I am sure he will be back in strength in the next list).

That all sounds good to me and although I am sure you would give this your all and do it well, for me this is Zee's baby and he has done it to perfection, in my view anyway, ever since I joined TIBB.

I agree with his proposed min. 2 weeks plan for the next one,(if he decides to go with that), I think 2 weeks overall is the minimum time needed and a week would be far too short to do it all for the bulk of members.

I wouldn't like just a top 20, the top 50 is far better, it actually also makes you aware of and lets you get to know some members you may not have come across before or communicated with.

I hope in time it is increased from the 50 not reduced as likely even more people join the forum.

1st - Lee - Lee is my best friend on the forum. We play words with friends all the time, and she lets me vent all of my frustration about all of the members to her. She's a really sweet, nice and awesome person all around.
2nd - Jesus - Jesus is intelligent and respectful and contributes a lot to the Serious debates threads. It's nice having a proper intelligent atheist on the forum. We need more members like him around here.
3rd - Josy - She's a great mod, she never let's her personal opinions influence her mod duties. She's fun and clearly has the best interests of the forum at heart.
4th - Ben - Ben has had a rough year. He stepped down as mod when he made some mistakes, and I respect him for doing that. He is very engaged on the forum and is a huge part of the community.
5th - Livia - Livia and I got off to a rocky start when i first joined, but I think we have a mutual respect for each other now. She never shies away from giving her opinion and I agree with her on a lot of issues. I love a strong independent woman!
6th - Marc - Much like Josy, Marc is a great mod. He's fair but also does a great job of keeping the balance around here. He's very devoted to this forum.
7th - Glenn - Glenn participates a lot, he's a chill guy, not an asshole at all, and he has a great sense of humor. And i love that ****ing smiling bunny. It hypnotizes me every time i see it.
8th - Joeysteele - Joey is not the biggest or loudest character on the forum, but he does get involved, and has good chats in the news sections.
9th - Shaun - He's just a solid member all around. He gets involved, he's friendly and chatty. He's just a pleasure to have around the forum.
10th - Arista - I wouldn't say that i really like Arista, and I certainly don't like a lot of the people he is friends with, but he does contribute a lot to the forum, especially the News/Serious debate section. It wouldn't be the same around here without him.

But it's been the way for such a long time now Alex, it's best not to do it because it does sort of take away some of the suspense if people all just post their votes because we'll have an indication as to who might win, making the countdown pointless.

You don't see an issue with members who are not Admins making rules that we are supposed to follow? Why should any member who is not an Admin be able to make rules about what we can and cannot post? That doesn't seem fair.

I'm not gonna make a big stink about it, but I just don't think that mods should be enforcing rules that aren't made by Admins. You are basically enforcing rules with your mod powers that aren't even real rules on the forum. That's kinda ****ed up.

I'm going to be asleep later probably, so why can't I just post it now. It doesn't affect the voting at all. And i really don't think mods should be enforcing rules that aren't actual forum rules. They are just made up rules for a game. It has nothing to do with actual forum rules, so why are mods enforcing fake rules?

Well things like this are at our own discretion Alex, you are free to post your votes but after Greg does the countdown tonight. Greg puts alot of his time and effort into to doing this and I don't understand why you would want to do something that might take away part of the surprise of the countdown for him and everyone who'll be following it.

Greg made a big stink about how we had to vote a certain way so it would fit into his fancy EXCEL SPREADSHEET So he should have had the results immediately anyway.
