It's so nice to be able to put faces to everyone now. I had the best time. Roll on next year!!

We had a quiet, retrospective evening of quiet contemplation.
Occasionally, one from among our number was kind enough to give a tasteful rendition of a popular song.
A most pleasant soiree spent in the company of charming, cultivated and witty friends.
Super!
:dance::dance::elephant::dance::elephant::shocked: :shocked::shocked:
I think we should all give a rousing 'Hip, hip, Hurrah' for Janette and Discolady for the excellent arrangements!

May I echo your words, ROB. A very sedate evening, quiet, tasteful and subdued. Neither of us got drunk and lowered the tone with a very out of tune belting out of My Guy, did we? It was those other two reprobates Bunty and Floss pretending to be us.
Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Seriously Janette and Discolady, a brilliant night. Thanks for all the effort you put into it.
I'm sure my head will stop pounding soon, won't it?
Janette

Can I just say what a fantastic night I had last night :hello:
It was great fun but I apologise now for my karaoke rendition of Evergreen, I'll leave to singing to Will in future!!!!!
It was so lovely to meet everyone, and I hope more people come next year, because we are going to have an absolute blast!
BTW, sorry if I was slightly tipsy last night

A good night it was! Almost everyone got up to dance and do the kareoke(me?). Even the good old bar guys got up and danced:laugh::laugh::laugh:
I can't wait to meet up again next year.
Thanks for the good night all!!!!

I hope you all got home ok and roll on next year :colour:  :colour:
Can't wait to see the piccys , I really hope I'm not on them
An absolutely brilliant evening. It was lovely to meet everyone and the TiBB group's rendition of Summer Nights will be remembered for many years to come

Thank you Janette and Disclolady for all the hard work you put in to makethis happen.
Roll on next year. :spin2:

I'd just like to echo everyone elses comments in saying what a great time I had at the convention.
It was really nice being able to put names to faces, and great being able to meet the people I have been talking to for the last year.
I'm looking foward to seeing the pictures and video's - I'm sure our renditions of some old classics weren't too bad! ::grins::
Big thanks to Discolady for organising it, and also to Janette for organising it and putting me up, and to LEE for driving me around and being a great host :wavey:
Not long until next years now!

I'd like to echo the sentiments already expressed here. We had a 'stonking' time, the drink flowed, the food was fab and the karaoke was a sight to behold. I'm glad it was all captured on video (big thumbs up to Discolady for ensuring that the evidence may be used against us at a future date!!!!).
A couple of memorable moments were:
Sticks' rendition of 'Millennium Prayer' - definitely gave it his all - it was certainly worth your journey from the North East Sticks!!
Bunty and Floss outdoing Mary Wells on 'My Guy' - the definitive version ladies!!
Many, many thanks to Discolady and Janette for all their hard work in organising a great event.
Here's to next year gang - let's hope even more of us can get together.

Hi guys!!
Just got back after a nightmare of a return jounrey home but it was well worth it.
Lovely to meet everyone - you were all really friendly and a lot of fun - me and my sis were saying how it was one of the best nights we have been out for in a long time. The karoke was funny, even though me, mark, steve and hannah hogged it a bit!:dazzler: (gotta do it next year boys!)
Definetely will be going next year and well done to discolady and janette for organising it.

Wow! It sounds like you all had a fab time and I can't wait to see the pictures and the video!!:dance:
Note the subtle use of the word "SEE" not "HEAR" the video  after the comments that have been made about the karaoke.
Wish I could have been there, next year maybe! :xyxwave:

I got so taken up with the atmosphere that I only took 3 photos
And two of them were during the set up.
If I must find a negative note (I do have a reputaion to keep up here  )
That would be the lousy deal I got at the hands of Arriva Trains Northern, and the Hotel from Hell I stayed in.
Toilet roll ran out (Luckily I bought my own)
Breakfast was late
No Tea making equipment
Paper thin walls
When someone at breakfast asked for another cup of coffee, they were gven a rude no.
As for the convention, many thanks to discolady and Janette for the time and effort.
Good to see ROB. If we have kareoke next year and if I can make it we need to do a duet of Paradise by the "Dashboard light"
I am staying on for the rest of the week at a hotel in Bury so the three piccys will have to wait for next week.
I visited Tottington this morning and have got some good pictures of the church yard there for when I get back
Back to the kareoke, I have had a chance to revie the footage of my singing and discovered that someone has been doing some editing, naming no names.:nono:
Must dash - cyber cafes cost money

FAN BLOODY TASTIC
Would have posted before but when I eventually got home found I was banned from the forum - didnt think I misbehaved that much.
Anyway what a brilliant night - thoroughly enjoyed myself - great to meet everyone and be made so welcome. Thanks again to everyone for all the hard work. Definitely one to remember, although whether we will say that when we see the video is another thing.
Had a horrendous journey back - we playing a variation on follow the van only this time it was follow the train, trying to catch up with our connection. Didnt work so that an extra hour's wait in Birmingham. I put the waiting time to good use cos I came up with the following - hope you like it.
ODE TO TIBB CONVENTION
Well so its over our special treat
Like minded people we went to meet
We drank, we danced, we 'sang' as well;
The video will sure have a tale to tell
We reminisced the whole night through
Did you see that clip? I saw it too.
Our minds went back to those halcyon days
Don't think somehow we'll change our ways.
From North and South, both East and West
Of the BB forums we are really the best
And when it came for us to go :xyxwave::xyxwave:
We were sad, oh woe oh woe
:bawling::bawling:
We promised we'd all meet up again
Our BB2 memories will never wane
Some stayed up until the morning came
Just who they were I will not name
But four remained those hardy few
Still looking back on BB2
Sat in the corner with fans of Man U
We stayed till the bar closed boo hoo hoo
So thanks to those who planned it all
I'm sure I can say we all had a ball :bouncy::bouncy:
New friends were made along the way
What a great crowd was all we could say
Hip hip hoorway lets give a big cheer:colour::colour:
For TIBB's convention was great never fear
We missed you all who stayed away
Perhaps we'll see you another day.
PS I'll give you a clue to the stop-ups their names begin with M, V, H and H. - say no more.:thumbs::thumbs:
Hello, fellow Conventioneers! :wavey:
I'll bore you rigid later on another thread about my 'eventful' journey home - but enough about that for now.
It was wonderful to meet you all and put faces to names at last. I had a fantastic evening, and the night just flew past. My feet were killing me the next morning!
I'd like to apologise for spoiling Janette's wonderful rendition of 'Evergreen' by wailing along with her. It was my first, and you'll be glad to hear probably my last, attempt at karaoke - definitely no competition for discolady, who was fantastic.
Huge thanks to discolady and Janette for organising a brilliant evening. The food, entertainment and company were all first class. Also special thanks to Janette for putting me up and to her and LEE for ferrying me to and from the train station.
All I can say is ........... roll on next year's Convention!

Bravo Busy Bee, stonking!! Well worth an hour in a siding at Brum I feel.
OK, I know who M & V are, but who are H & H???
M, V, H and H. - say no more.:thumbs::thumbs: :conf:
It was a night of nights. I thought I was the very model of decorum and refinement.
However, as I have already said privately to Lee, I have learnt two valuable lessons:
1. Never attempt to sing when sober
2. Never volunteer to sing alone
and possibly:
3. Never assume that being built like Alison Moyet means you can sing like her!
I was disappointed I didn't get a chance to dedicate my solo rendition and my duet with Peachy to the one and only Mr Clarke, but I'm sure you already guessed from the titles.
Sticks, you're on for the duet next year! I know you're a Meatloaf fan, so how about
'Dead Ringer'. I think I could do a passable Cher.......................
How can we possibly wait a whole year to repeat this experience??????:bawling:

ROB M and V were joined in their late night chat by a young lady and her sister - say no more.
I must admit I was inspired by the deep and meaningful conference we had about the merits of a certain young man who we are both rather fond of. I wonder if his ears were burning - bet he doesnt get compliments like that every day!!
:thumbs::thumbs:
You are right a year to wait is a long time -
how about a BB2 anniversary meeting - after all if its good enough for the housemates then its good enough for us.:hugesmile:
I'd worked out one of the H'swas Hannah, but her sister's name doesn't begin with an H so i got confused as well.

You had to interupt the happiness of the thread didnt you Sticks! Lol! I spose it IS your job so you can be forgiven!
But I have to say your hotel doesnt sound that bad!
When I went to Tenerife a few months ago our apartment had a bathroom door that didnt lock (shared between 5 of us!), a squeaky bed and cockroaches but I loved every minute of it!
Its not where you are, but who your with that counts and Im sure the company was great!
Sorry if that sounded a bit arse-licky! Lol!

Steve you werent the only one having trouble with the tv. I spent ages trying to find the remote - then realised there wasnt one. The reception wasnt good when I finally worked out how it worked, but the free tea and coffee went down a treat! I quite agree that was a completely amazingly good breakfast at the hotel, set me up until I eventually got home.

Writing about how excellent Mr Richie was last week on FA,
AND me sitting here wishing it was this time last week has made me remember to mention in dispatches the very wonderful MR DISCOLADY before this thread disappears.
It was the third occasion I have had the privilege to hear his wonderful rendition of one of Lionels classics. An absolute blinder!!
I seem to vaguely remember that he was rewarded for his efforts by several big smackers and bear hugs from yours truly.
:blush:Sorry Discolady!! But he is a treasure and must be shared!
