A man from China has built a portable home that he can carry around on his back.

Liu Lingchao, 38, lost his job and would walk 12 miles a day in search of work.

To support himself, he started collecting rubbish and created a home from bamboo, plastic bags and bedsheets.

The 5ft by 6ft home weighs over 9st and Lingchao carries it on his back wherever he goes.

The Mirror quotes him as saying: "I got fed up getting caught in the rain."

This is fantastic. Ranks up there with my favourite news stories.

Not favourite in terms of how his life is of course. You know what I mean. :suspect:

It's sort of like the Native Americans and their teepees. basically teepees were mobile homes like this. But they would deconstruct them before they moved them, and had a lot more people to help with carrying everything, and horses.
