So what? I would rather eat soya and enhancers than infected horse....
Carmine and cochineal have been used as a colouring for 100s of years and is perfectly safe...... Sounds like a slow news day article to me.
Not bovvered ..... :bored:
I don't eat any of that stuff .... :nono:
It's cheap, who cares what's in it

isn't the clue in the word "flavour". I'd be aghast if I found a chunk of bacon in my bag of smokey bacon frazzles

This is old news isn't it?

Yeah, I was going to say, it says 'flavoured', so they can get themselves out of it by saying they don't state there is bacon, chicken, beef, etc; in them. As long as those buying think they taste good, I suppose they won't be that bovered.

What no meat in the Pot Noodles.... How is this possible ? I mean such an expensive quality product with 100% natural ingredients has no meat in it . Surely not this must be some sort of wind up .... Yes !!!!

Is anybody shocked that crisps doesn't contain meat? Or chicken flavoured rice doesn't contain chicken? Its common sense.
Jessica.

It says "flavour" on them, it doesn't say "contains meat". :|

I am sure on QI that Stephen Fry said there were bits of Insects in minute quantities in most foods, and the panel seemed to know this also.

It's to do with the colouring carmine, it's red and is made from a natural source...

So, they use insects in the making of food, like making the artificial colourings?
Well that makes more sense than them just tossing insects into the food.

Thankfully! I despise prawns, I love prawn cocktail crisps, mostly because it tastes nothing like an actual prawn cocktail.

Nearly, it is a natural colouring as artificial red food colourings can cause side effects.
Sunset yellow (E110) - Colouring found in squashes
Carmoisine (E122) - Red colouring in jellies
Tartrazine (E102) - New colouring in lollies, fizzy drinks
Ponceau 4R (E124) - Red colouring
Quinoline yellow (E104) - Food colouring
Allura red AC (E129) - Orange/red food dye

I don't give a ****. Insects, soylent green, if it's tasty i'll eat it.
If it kills me? so what, i'm 31, i'm too old to care at this point.
I smoke 2 packs a day, i'm not gonna complain about whats in my food when i'm already pumping chemicals into my lungs.
I have friends that actually buy "organic" food and they are smokers. They are ****ing morons.
Don't see why the Mail is making this out to be some great revelation that they've uncovered, all of this information is printed on the packets
