The Singapore to London flight suddenly dropped 20 metres leading to chaotic scenes and paramedics meeting flight at Heathrow

A sudden and terrifying bout of turbulence on a UK-bound plane saw it plunge 20 metres as cups of coffee shot upwards and splattered on the roof.

Passengers on the recent Singapore Airlines flight were left surrounded by a chaotic mess after the incident.

Food, drink, pillows, trays and cutlery were strewn all over the aisle on flight SQ308 from Singapore to London last Sunday.

Eleven passengers and one crew member suffered minor injuries and were met by paramedics when the flight from hell finally landed at Heathrow.

One passenger said everything that was not tied down, including people, hit the ceiling.

Alan Cross, who managed to take these pictures of the chaos, said the turbulence felt “like being in an elevator with a cut cable or free-falling from some amusement park ride”.

Passengers had been warned to expect a rough patch. Seat-belt signs were on at the time and the breakfast service had been suspended.

Mr Cross said the staff were “amazing” in the aftermath, ensuring everything was quickly cleaned up and back to normal.

Passengers were handed boxes of chocolates by the crew as they left the plane.

I must admit ever since I saw that guy being sucked out of the aircraft in Lost, I've always kept my seat belt on loosely fastened as per the advice....

that must have been horrific for all concerned, there is always someone willing to take pics though, even though they might be facing imminent death lol
