Why is that good news for me? I've always said that the EDL and the fundamentalist muslims are as bad as each other. Burning mosques or beheading soldiers, all political/religious violence is horrible.

Good point, Nobody is tolerated more than anyone else...
extremest views are just that either from muslims or members of the EDL.
They are both given a platform by the media on which to express themselves, that is I guess freedom of speech.
There is a difference in the choice to cover your face, some do it to hide their identity whilst performing acts some may consider against the law, and some just whilst going about their daily business...

In Islam women are not required to go to mosque - they have the freedom to pray at home and mosque. Men however are required to. This is why mosques tend to be dominated by men. That's not oppressing women, so shush. It's actually more tougher for men especially at Ramadan because they're required to pray late at night for two hours in hot cramped conditions, whereas women's prayer is much shorter and from the comfort of their home.
