View Full Version : I hate my name sometimes

I ordered two drinks in Starbucks today, and whenever I'm in there I always make a point of spelling out and pronouncing my name for them because if I don't then 9/10 it'll be misspelt and said wrong when they yell my name out.

So after telling the woman how my name is spelt and said, I thought nothing would go wrong.

But then I get given this:

I give up with this name oh my God :bored:

i hate mine too. because of my accent sometimes when i introduce myself, people think i'm saying kyle..i used to always try to correct them but it would make for awkwardness so i just kind of gave up and let them call me that lol

Do you hate when people call you Neil? I'd imagine that would get really frustrating.

I know the feeling. I've had the same problem when people call me Neil/Noel etc.

Yeah. I don't understand how people do that I mean my name is literally spelt how it's said so I mean ???!!?!???????

You need to go sit in a corner with niamh.....

I think I will. It's a tough existence having a weird name.

Nah dude I think it's such an epic name, probably my third favourite male name of all time and definitely one i'd consider if I were to have a kid. :)

I've never done it but apparently you can just give them whatever word you want and they'll use that as your name and not question you

So can you just say '******' and they'll call that out? :joker: :joker:

Tbf Niall, I know a few people called Niall and they're a mixture of either the way you pronounce yours or Neil...

My friend Nadine went in once and they wrote 'Nedee' on her cup, pretty funny

You're one to talk I mean look at how weirdly your parents spelled your name wtf

I saw this earlier on FB. I love how they spelt one correctly and one incorrect.

I know. It's spectacular considering it was the same woman who wrote on both the cups.

Nah dude I think it's such an epic name, probably my third favourite male name of all time and definitely one i'd consider if I were to have a kid. :)

Well hopefully your kid will have an easier time with it than I.
