View Full Version : Do you ever ignore the phone ringing?
Sticking with todays theme of phones...do you ever ignore your phone when it rings?
I must admit I can be right ignorant and if any of my sisters phone me while I'm watching something on TV I either ignore them or I answer and tell them to phone back in an hour or whatever

Yup. I also ignore the door if I am not expecting anyone.
I ignore my phone if it's a number I don't recognise... and quite often when it's a number I do recognise :laugh2: if it's important they'll leave a message and I'll call them back. I have an irrational fear of phone calls, even though practically every job I've ever had has involved regularly being on the phone and I have no problem with that

I rarely answer the phone, only if my mom tells me she's expecting a call. Other than that I ignore it.

I haven't had a phone in a month since I dropped it into a cup of coffee
Since we got caller id on our phone I ignore it a lot more often, most of the time they're not ringing for me after all, my mobile I pretty much always answer

I'm the worst with my phone. I can go a whole day without checking it, and it's rare that I'll ever answer a phonecall, I hate speaking on the phone.

I never answer the phone.
I'm too shy. Unless it's my mobile in which case I know it'll be my mum or dad.

I dislike phone conversations for some reason, so unless it looks important, I'll probably just wait for them to text me :spin:

Yes, I do.
I'm not into phones. And I'll put the TV on mute and ignore the front door too if it's a stranger or someone I can't be arsed with.

I often let the phone ring. I'm not much of a one for chatting on the phone.

My sister in law has a habit of ringing after 10pm so I always ignore the phone as I know it is her and I have told her on more than one occasion that I don't want her to ring at that time. My sister is another one who rings at the most inopportune times so I generally let it go to voicemail and ring back when I feel like it.
The landline - almost always, unless I recognise and want to speak to the caller
The mobile - very rarely, since the caller will almost always be someone I want to speak to

See that's what my sisters are like too, ring at the times that other people wouldn't even think of phoning someone, one of my sisters has a habit of phoning on a fri/sat night at about 11pm and when I answer she will say what are you doing? and doesn't really have any other reason to be phoning at that time

House phone - Only if it's a number I recognise and even then I sometimes ignore
Mobile - Not often, let them text me or leave a voicemail
..I never answer the house phone, it would only be a call centre, everyone phones me on my mobile...

The landline I never answer, I leave it to the answer phone and if it's someone I know or something important then I'll pick it up. The mobile I can be hit or miss with, most of the time I'll answer it, although if the person/places name is on there I'll answer straight away.
I hate phone calls though. I'd rather talk to someone in person instead of on the phone.
