Going Thursday, but don't what's happening really, i've never been before, never even been to a festival before, so it's all alien to me at the moment, but my mates who i'm going with go every year, so they'll have to show me what's what.

King Gizzard

and I really like Mumford still, the dislike is quite annoying, but yeah, they're definitely never headliners. They'll put on a great show though. Just annoying seeing people say they suck when they obviously don't

Shaun

Wiley has cancelled his appearance at Glastonbury, leaving the festival before his scheduled performance on Saturday (June 29).

The rapper initially shared his frustration over having to perform at this year's Glastonbury Festival during a lengthy Twitter tirade on Thursday (June 27), but went one better after having arrived on site.

He tweeted: "Ya know what... en route to heathrow realtalk...lol .... Idc. Make sure you go see the Rolling Stones tho …"

He added: "I don't have to play there ...God knows and I know ...all this moaning means nothing to neither me or god ...lol ... Tbf my manager and team could of prevented this but I don't blame them I'm just glad I ain't at glasto ...Amen."

The grime star's earlier negative tweets have since disappeared, but he had made his feelings perfectly clear before hitting the 'delete' button. "Soon as I land …Rain ffs," he began, before adding several tweets later: "**** it life goes on but I am pissed. Glastonbury ain’t paying me enough to leave my comfort zone …tight bastards."

Continuing, Wiley lashed out at several other summer festivals, saying: "Capital ball Glastonbury And wireless can all **** off as far I’m concerned." He then took issue with his Glastonbury fee, warning: "I’m gonna tell al the promoters how much Glastonbury get away with paying people and the other festivals will think wtf .."

Later in his tirade, Wiley even began tweeting at the official Glastonbury Festival Twitter account, @GlastoFest. "please cancel me I do not want to play for you ever again," he urged. Then, responding to a tweet from fan @DJimmy_Wilson, he concluded: "jay z had to wait till the end of his career to play glasto ..**** them and their farm …."

Wiley was due to appear on the Sonic Stage on Saturday afternoon. He also apologised for the original "**** them and their farm" comment, saying it was rude and he shouldn't have said it.

Wiley is amazing, I swear :joker:What a prick? For an artist whos entire repertoire is tunes about 'de man dem and de gyal dem' he seems quite angry. He needs to look at his own musical legacy.

Ive sky plussed ti all , hoping to catch up on it soon

I saw most of the rolling stones set yesterday, I thought they were sensational.....:wavey: Just sensational....jagger sounded fantastic imho....Richards and wood were inch perfect on guitar too.....the energy level was great...ultimately theyre a legendary band because they've created so many unique wonderful songs

I also caught another legend earlier, dear old Kenny rogers....endless classics, .the gambler, weve got tonight, ruby, lucilee, see what condition my condition was it, lady, islands in the stream...great charisma with the audience....fantastic ....even the sun shone:wavey:

looking forward to mumford and son later....elvis Costello is on the sky plus too...

who else do we need to look out for???

Azealia Banks was epic, catch her full set. Wow, didn't stop for breathe then got a megaphone out for the "screamo" in Yung Rapunxel. Huge, lively crowd too. Plus he was dressed as a neon green thorny reptile-thing so what can you say?

The Stones (epic), Kenny Rogers, Jessie Ware, Chic and Nile Rodgers and HAIM all highlights for me. Felt Mumford & Arctic Monets were bland for headliners tbh...

I thought the stones were absolutely majtestic.....their greatest hits are timeless and they sounded fantastic

Stu

Yeah Stones were good fun. Arctic Monkeys are still just a wall of pointless noise to me. It's migraine music. If there is no space in the sound and no quietness then I can't buy it. Mumford & Sons belong in butter adverts. Compare the thinness of their sound to the majesty of say ... Arcade Fire. Not a direct comparison I know but they do the whole parochial thing so much better. Mumford are a hipster anointed wedding band.

Chase & Status put on a good show. Bobby Gillespie is still alive and probably had a crack at the entire Haim. Unsuccessfully.

It was a crap year really.

Ramsay

i saw arctic monkeys in 2011 and even though i'm a huge fan of them, most of their gig was fairly i dunno...boring? i was shocked to be so happy when it was over but i think that was only because foos were on right after
still have to check out the stones, anyone have a youtube link of them?

james130
02-07-2013, 06:07 PM
I don't think anyone will ever fully appreciate it unless you're there.
I wasn't particularly excited for any head-liner and they all blew me away. :idc:

The Stones were my ultimate band of the week. Not even half of their set was broadcast and the atmosphere at the pyramid was incredible on Saturday night.

Stu
02-07-2013, 06:10 PM
No I think I can fully appreciate that being pissed in a field with about a hundred thousand other people would make the concert marginally better. I still think they suck though.

I don't think anyone was pissed. No one bothers drinking till about midnight when all the music has finished and the night-life starts. They were the most energetic act of the week and really got involved with the crowd and that's what makes them such an incredible live act.

Oh & Portishead too

Portishead were great. Anyone see Chic? Thought they were brilliant. Tried watching Tom Tom Club but was a bit disappointed with them for some reason. Still got loads to watch. I heard Kenny Rogers was excellent so I am going to give him a chance tomorrow.

only ones I've bothered checking on iPlayer are Chic, Portishead, Azealia and Vampire Weekend. Saw AM and Rolling Stones on TV.
