View Full Version : Have you ever taken an instant dislike to someone...
..either in real life or maybe the internet, you might never have spoken to someone but for some inexplicable reason, you just can't warm to them..?...

yes, it happens all the time. But i try to get to know that person anyway.
Yes, I admit that I have. I feel like an awful person for admitting that :( but can't help that I sometimes have done that, it's a trait I am not proud of in myself.

All the time. You never get a second chance to make a first impression. If I don't like you immediately, I probably never will.

Yes, but if I have I counter balance that thought with still leaving the door open as to giving them the benefit of the doubt until they do or really say something against me or someone else that is unfair and unjustified or cruel.
Only then would I put my first dislike into full operation. The same as I would though with anyone I had known or liked before too.
I do think first impressions are important though.

I'm terrible with first impressions, I'm usually completely wrong as well. Alot of times I've disliked people who turned out to be lovely and liked people who turned out to be arseholes

Yes, in both. It's funny too because some of the people online/real life who I didn't get on with at first have gone on to become some of my better friends who I like the most.

I reckon I can tell if I'm gonna like someone by speaking to them for less than 5 minutes. I also reckon I get it right 95% of the time. I can live with the 5% of time I get it wrong.

Yes, bus journey's are the worst, there will always be a ******* I'd love to throw into traffic on them.
..I think it happens to most people, I don't know why that is but I always think that if you don't warm to someone, you won't then be looking at them objectively so you're always going to feel that you are proved right in your initial feelings because you'll only really see their flaws and overlook their good points and we all have nice things and irritating things, well most people do..so you're always going to think that you have a good intuition/perception of people but maybe you haven't really given them a fair and equal chance...

You should be a writer, the words you use and the way you use them are generally so balanced and totally fair.
Just a book full of your thoughts and thinking as to your take on people, the World and things in general would be inspirational to so many people and I really do mean all that.
