I'm so annoyed we didn't send ours in :/ I work really hard every round and it's just... bleh.
How come they didn't get in, were you not online?
Shaun
14-07-2013, 04:23 PM
I haven't been online all day... I'd complain about the 2pm deadline but 3 other teams managed it so that's not fair (although 3/10 teams...)
I can't blame Linda either cos she said she wouldn't be on until the evening.
lily.
14-07-2013, 04:31 PM
I didn't finish work til 4pm.. But our answers were all there in the team room, so idk if Greg can check we haven't edited the post, and accept them as they were, or if the rules are strict regarding deadlines.. :/

I didn't send my answers. I didn't know it was a 2 pm deadline. I got it wrong. :bawling:

Excuses Excuses, it's in the thread title and we got an extra half day as this was set on Thursday, jeez I'm turning into a right battleaxe I think its the heat.:joker:
I'm not the only one who got confused. :hmph:
Cherie

Shaun confused I don't think so  Anyway it's up to Zee really.
I meant, i'm not the only one who missed the deadline. Anyway, it happened. I'll be more careful next time.
..the bubbles were better than these Zee..you can't see anything at all....
..yeah I do appreciate that you have to somehow 'mask' them but it is hard for us as well, I feel like I'm going blind, just trying to decipher pics for days...I really don't know what the answer is Zee...maybe not pic rounds at all, the odd one out one was ok with the clues...
Shaun doesn't stand for nonsense when he does the quiz, they would have been out on their arses! :laugh2:
..let's get this into perspective then we can stop the silliness.. those were my exact posts when I saw the movie round and the pictures had been photoshopped, which at first we didn't think would be possible to make out but as I said, it was very late at the time and we'd worked for hours on them all day and the day before..but actually we got 30 before we had any clues and we got them quite easily..that was the extent of my 'whinging' and I didn't see Niamh or Livia 'whinging' at all....I have nothing else to say about it and most certainly not to you...
Kizzy
14-07-2013, 05:11 PM
Did I say 'whinging'?... are you whinging about you thinking I said whinging?
If you have nothing to say to me ammi don't quote me, I was joking about the quiz it was not an attack at you, livia or anyone.
lily.

Don't worry about it Vanessa... It's not like you were trying to cheat or anything. Don't feel bad.
Cherie
14-07-2013, 05:22 PM
Having said that I was very surprised neither of your teams returned your answers, I'm sure Zee will be lenient.

:( We worked for hours on those answers as well. s0b
How many did you have?
Shaun
14-07-2013, 07:54 PM
I think around 20-25, so we wouldn't really be challenging at all still  but it's still annoying

14-07-2013, 08:21 PM
It's okay Niamh. We didn't exactly have 50/50 in that round lol..
I think we might do better in this one. :)
Y'all should learn to read :idc:
seeing as this quiz turned into a farce the moment Round 2 hit your screens I might as well just add on all the scores for all the teams that failed to send stuff in; quite a few teams seem to have given up entirely but some of you were working on rounds and just nobody sent it in which is a shame
lily.
14-07-2013, 08:48 PM
Thanks Greg.. you're a wee star. xo
Right I'm going through the team rooms for those that missed rounds to see what they had before the deadline. Everyone submitted Round 1 and Round 2. Round 3, three teams didn't send anything in - MTV's Jusy and the Happy Turtles, the Weavologist Collective: Armed & Reloaded and the Catfish Investigation Team. The CIT didn't have any replies to the thread for Round 3 or anything thereafter so they are currently considered defunct, so they scored 0/50 for Round 3 and every round thereafter.
Weavologist scored 6 points in Round 3 but did not take part in any rounds thereafter, taking their total to 79 points (I'll post an updated list of scores at the end once I've been through each round with missed scores.)
MTV's Jusy and the Happy Turtles had 25/50 for Round 3.
Team B.R.O. scored 10/50 in Round 4; Catfish and Weavologist didn't take part in Round 4.
Cherie
14-07-2013, 09:17 PM
I'm polishing up your halo Zee.
Happy Turtles had 19/50 for Round 5
B.R.O., Weavologist and Catfish didn't take part in Round 5
Jake.
14-07-2013, 09:19 PM
Ah thank you for doing this Greg, helps all teams involved
Round 6:
Jungle Cats 8/50
ARMI 19/50
Hoodrats, Happy Turtles, Weavologist, Catfish and B.R.O. didn't take part in this round
1st Callidus 221
2nd ARMI 185
3rd Americanos 167
4th MTV's Jusy and the Happy Turtles 154
5th Untouchables 137
6th B.R.O. 109
7th Helen's Hoodrats 103
8th Jungle Cats 99
9th Catfish Investigation 81
10th Weavologist Collective 79
So basically from now on as long as you have some kind of definitive list in your Team Room for this round and the remaining rounds compiled before the deadline and not edited any time after it, I'll add your points on. If Google won't play by the rules then neither will I :bored:

is this the last round btw?
I have another round after this one and I might add on more if people are happy with the filter used on the photos for this round? Are the photos in this one clear enough? 'Cause if so then I'll do that to Round 8's pictures too and then maybe add on another round because despite all the hiccups, I have really enjoyed putting this together and I don't want it to end... :bawling:
Shaun
14-07-2013, 09:39 PM
Yeah the photos in this one are a thousand times better than the sketchy ones. I was rather looking forward to a TV/sport/video games round though (just cos we have Dean )

Would it be possible to know definitively how many rounds we have left to go? Just for people who have other commitments... and can we now request rounds to be added based on the strengths of some of our team members, hmmmmmmm?
Definitely one more round which will run Tuesday evening - Thursday evening, and then to round things up I could do one last round which could just be a mish mash of topics that I haven't covered yet?
Or more... I like putting them together... hahaha
Livia
15-07-2013, 09:16 AM
Thanks Zee xx
..would it be possible to request just one last round after this Zee..?..you don't have to, I know maybe other people want more..it's just that I was only planning for a few rounds of this and it's worked out that I'm doing them all but it's just such a busy time for me at work, I'm struggling a bit with it all...anyway, it's up to you, it's just a request...I have enjoyed it though, it's just taken up a lot of time and it's my busiest time of year...

So this being Round 7, just one last round (Round 8) would be your preference Ammi? I'll see what others have to say, but don't feel like you've any obligation to be online just to help out for this regardless of how many more rounds there are!

..yeah, obviously it's down to everyone else, what they want..just go with the majority Zee...yeah, I know I don't have to but I can't commit to something and then not see it through..I'd rather not sleep, which is more or less what I'm doing lol...
Well what I could do is take the best parts of Round 8 (sneak preview: Animals) and split it into 5 sections, so 10 images per section and have for example Animals, Sport, Video Games, TV programs and something else? Then it's just a general knowledge round and it'll end on Thursday - what do people think?
..yes, yes..beautiful....I kew you would come up with the perfect solution...and for all in the name of goodness, you're giving Nathan some sports...HALLELUJAH....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...Zee, you are nothing less than perfect....
..and Dezzy some games as well...we can't forget Dezzirah.....

Definitely settled on doing just one more round running from Tuesday - Thursday but undecided on whether to keep it as it currently stands (Animals) or make it a General Knowledge round (five sections of 10 images from different categories, one of those being Animals) but either way, definitely just one more round. Sorry for any confusion and indecision !

Greg, I'd go with the General Knowledge idea... that way all the categories not covered thus far can be covered within it. It's a good idea to make Round 8 the final round though, because people can't necessarily commit to longer than that.
But, I've enjoyed it, and a lot of people have too, so if you are happy to do it, you could run a new one starting next week. We can make new teams for it, and you can say at the start exactly how long it will run... maybe have 25 questions per round, and each round only lasting 24 hours.. that way the whole thing could be done in just over a week.. like a mini-pub-quiz..
Just a suggestion... idk what others think of that..
Zee be the strong independant woman that you are and put your foot down.
Do whatever you want to, stop letting selfdoubt get in the way and be a free bitch x

I think if you guys are all happy with the filter I've used to obscure the photos in this round (and the next round) then I'd use that from now on, if I were to ever run a pub quiz again. I think it would only be fair to let someone else have a go if they wanted to do it, but having finally (for now, anyway...) figured out how to get around Google's image search technology, I'd run one again for sure :)
Niamh.

I wasn't planning on it 'cause people seemed happy with how the images were presented this time around

Ah that's OK, thought it wouldn't hurt to ask :dazzler:
Reminder that Round 7 closes at 5pm tonight. I may be rushed for time tonight so I'll post Round 8 before I do the results for Round 7 so that you get enough time to do the last round; I've got to come back down to work tonight at 8pm so I might have to do the results later on tonight once I'm back!
And another reminder to (ideally) PM me with your definitive list of answers or at the very least have a list compiled with your final answers
lily.

Ours is compiled in the first post in our thread.. so if we don't manage to PM you before 5pm, just take whatever is on that post as our list.

Firstly I'm gonna post Round 8, the final round of the pub quiz, then I'm gonna do results for Round 7 'cause I've got to go back down to work at 8 and I've got to factor in dinner as well so I dunno if I'll get the results done before then but we'll see how it goes. Just formatting all the links!
Round 8 - General Knowledge
This round will remain open until Thursday 6pm, and is the final round of this pub quiz! The round is split up into 5 sections, with instructions as follows:
1-10: identify the animals by name
11-20: identify the video game character and the franchise they are from (you don't have to be specific, e.g. you could say Master Chief is from the Halo franchise and not name a specific game, if he were one of the answers)
21-30: identify the television program
31-40: identify the sport
41-50: identify the country by its outline, none of them are displayed as they would be on a map but all of them are countries connected to mainland, so none of them are island nations, to give you a helping hand!

31-40: identify the sport
41-50: identify the country by its outline, none of them are displayed as they would be on a map but all of them are countries connected to mainland, so none of them are island nations, to give you a helping hand!

well done all..! and Congrats to Callidus, great effort.
So, all there's left to say is a huge thank you to everyone who took part in this pub quiz, especially those of you who stuck it out to the bitter end... there were ups (ten teams signed up!), there were downs (you all Googled the answers! Three teams dropped out completely! A fourth team stopped trying! Round 3 was hastily planned and badly thought out because I didn't know how to overcome the Google reverse image search! The bubbles round! The pencil drawing version of pictures round! Teams not getting their answers in on time and getting frustrated with me! People slagging me off in their team rooms and not knowing I could read it! People slagging me off in their team rooms and knowing I could read it! (**** you ARMI)) and then there were more ups again (running the quiz after I finally figured out a way to beat Google that didn't make it impossible either, i.e. Rounds 7 and 8; the amazing team work and the hilarious answers people gave when they didn't have one) which I'm all very grateful for...
A massive well done to Callidus who showed that a combination of active teamwork from all 5 people and a steely determination to figure out what all the answers were truly pays off in the end - congratulations on the victory guys! The Happy Turtle reign is finally over! Thank you all for sticking with me over the last two weeks, it's been a fun way to pass the time! :)

We will take our 4th place trophy and go, we can't spend too much time with y'all since we're obviously the real winners, we just didn't wanna get everyone right and show y'all up.

We should change our team name to that
The best team won, well done.
You ran the quiz well Zee, especially after you ran in to problems, you got it done in the end, well done to you.
Sorry i lost interest, i never planned to, but when your putting effort in and some of your team don't bother, then you just think what's the point?
And Josie D'arby was easy
