View Full Version : What's the best household chore?
I know nobody is supposed to enjoy doing their chores... but some are definitely better than others. What's your favourite? Or least least favourite, as the case may be ?
Greg, when did you become 60 years old?..

I don't mind loading the dishwasher and I hate folding and putting away clothes
I quite like cleaning the sink but sometimes it makes me gag, can't stand doing the shower or the toilet :bawling:
I get lost in doing the dishes sometimes because it's quite straight forward unless you've got a really difficult stain... same with hanging up laundry, I quite like that

Hoovering, it's the perfect chance to stick some headphones in and have a sing without anyone hearing you http://a.mod-site.net/s/appl.gif

I like washing up but i hate ironing.
I'd rather iron my face than iron my clothes, absolutely dreadful chore :bored:

Ironing..... what's that?
My life is far too short for ironing.

Definitely cleaning the toilet' especially if you have to put your hand in the water. Nothing give me greater satisfaction. I don't even flinch anymore. Straight in no messing and then a sense of pride as I frantically scrub by sh*t covered hands.

Gardening. Is that a chore? Other than that I hate any kind of housework, but like the smug feeling I get when the place is sparkling.
Washing up and general cleaning keeps me content. I was the perfect housemate at uni

Hoovering, gardening or doing the kitchen.
Hate doing the dishes though.
Quite like mopping.
Detest cleaning out the oven.
Hoovering satisfies me greatly.
I detest cleaning the oven and laundry of all sorts.. I always have a massive pile of clean clothes that need put away and I don't iron any more as it makes me mad! I just iron as I need stuff :)

Washing up once I actually start. Beforehand I just keep looking at the pile with a feeling of doom. But once I actually start it, its quite calming tbh.

I like brushing up. I hate bits or mucky scuffs and marks, the slightest thing and the dustpan's out.
I don't mind filling the dishwasher and tidying the kitchen up either except when my mother is around, she starts re-arranging the stuff in the washer like an OCD maniac.
I get a small sense of achievement when I finish cleaning up a room, makes me feel better about being behind on uni work.

I do the dishes nearly everyday, so I don't mind them. We don't iron clothes, hoovering a room is fine but it's awkward bringing the vacuum cleaner up and down stairs. I also wash and hangout clothes, well the machine does the washing, and the putting them on the line in the back garden and bringing them in is nice enough. Picking up small amounts of groceries or doing errands, used to bug me, but not so much any more. I don't dust unless I'm asked to, I hate doing it.
I'm so sure what the best one is, although the feeling having done the dishes is pretty good.
