If you had £2 million and had to buy a house anywhere in the world, which one would you buy?

Must be within budget :)

I would actually buy more than one property. Rent one out and live in the other. :)

Probably stay in SE England, add that's where all my friends and relations live.

That's gorgeous!

Yes, I was looking for one I actually stayed in when we went to florida. We rented a place for a week because it was cheaper than getting a hotel or something. Was a 5 bed semidetatched with its own pool..and was bloody lovely, and they were only 300 grand to buy. I remember my dad being extremely tempted to buy one but he said they couldnt move there as apparently you cant move to america if you dont have a job lined up..

Something cheapish, detached, in the midlands area but in like a small village or something, quite big but not too big like a mansion

Then an apartment in London or New York to rent out as a holiday/business apartment and then use when I want

Marc

I think Canada.. or (bit oppostie) somewhere around the countryside in Spain/Italy or France.. but I think I would save my money by having a smaller property and travel around the world following the tennis :D

I would probably get a nice house in London and a trendy little flat in Miami.

RichardG

Definitely somewhere in Canada. I wouldn't want to live in a giant mansion though, and I wouldn't want to be too secluded from everywhere else. Probably somewhere like these:

Hmm do I go for the lovely mansion (http://www.seeff.co.zw/index.php?option=com_estateagent&act=object&task=showEO&id=1911&limit=10&limitstart=0) with only 1 acre or do I go for the place with 19 acres (http://www.seeff.co.zw/index.php?option=com_estateagent&act=object&task=showEO&id=2481) but looks like it needs a lot of work

Alternatively if someone would like to do a joint investment we could club together for this place (http://www.seeff.co.zw/index.php?option=com_estateagent&act=object&task=showEO&id=2281) which has "28 acres of perfectly manicured lawns"

Would probably also want a bit of leftover cash for servants and guards as well mind

Decisions, decisions

£2 million would buy you quite a nice flat in Mayfair - not top of the range though. ;)

Buying a large property is only the start of your expense though. Your income would have to be sufficient to maintain it.

Jobseekers allowance wouldn't do it. Lol! ;)

2 million really would not buy a huge property in this day and age. In some parts it would buy you not much better than a glorified cupboard.
