Cut Copy have revealed their new single in a pretty novel way. At the CHIRP Record Fair at this weekend's Pitchfork Music Festival, they set up a booth at which 120 copies of the single were lathe-cut on the spot. Each copy of the one-sided 12" was engraved with the name of the person who bought it.

One person who bought one has now uploaded it to YouTube.

At last, Cut Copy have shared details of their follow-up to 2011's Zonoscope. It's called Free Your Mind, and it's out November 5 via Loma Vista/Modular. They've also freed the title track from its previously billboard-specific shackles. Stream the track below.

The band recorded the album in their hometown of Melbourne, Australia. It was produced by the band's Dan Whitford, and then got it mixed in upstate New York by Dave Fridmann (Tame Impala, MGMT, the Flaming Lips). It features their other previously shared single "Let Me Show You Love".

The press release notes that the album was influenced by the two different Summers of Love (1967 and 1988-1989). "The concept of freedom is one that's universally positive and timeless, and whatever each person's version of that freedom is, it's a good thing to be reminding people or even just ourselves to be 'free,'" Whitford said.
