There you are, standing in the fish and chip shop and it comes down to that nail biting crucial moment...

Salt and vinegar on your chips?

Salt, I feel vinegar ruins the flavour of them.

I love vinegar but sometimes I'm not in the mood for it, sometimes I am... so I'd say salt and vinegar most of the time but sometimes just salt

Of course, but only if I can do it myself, and only if there's onion vinegar.

That can't be allowed to pass without comment. Why have I never heard of this, and which cauldron is this brewed in?

What a sheltered life you have led. Onion vinegar is the best thing out! Not everywhere does it though.

I go vinegar, then salt.

Is it a southern thing, like jellied eels?

I never have fish, but whenever I have chips I always enjoy lots of salt and vinegar!

just vinegar and lots of it. I don't like salt on anything, it ruins them.

I think by onion vinegar they mean pickled onions in vinegar. All this talk of salt and vinegar on chips is making me hungry!

Used to have both but I kind of went off vinegar a couple of years ago, so now it's just salt.
