Do you prefer a lazing by the beach/pool type holiday? Are you a city sightseeing type of person? Do you like to go hiking or skiing or on safari? What sort of holidays do you enjoy best?

I'm definitely a sightseeing sort of guy. I would abhor a holiday where the only things I can do are either go to a pool, or sit around on a beach all day. How boring. There's too much of the world to see to waste time like that!

I like a bit of site seeing but not really cities, I also like to laze by the pool so I like a mix of both.

Depends... I love skiing, road trips, sight-seeing, lazing by the pool... it all depends where I am and who I'm with. One thing I detest is being 'packaged'.

I chill on beaches during the day and go out at nights usually. Sometimes I'll go shopping if the exchange rate is nice

I like to fit in a bit of everything, couldn't sit by a pool... I would have to be in it swimming! :)

I'd already assumed I was invited. I've packed my suitcase, and I'm standing on my front doorstep wide-eyed with anticipation at being picked up for a road trip. Can you look into those eyes and shatter my soul? Well can you?

See, none of your Patrick sigs ever managed such a thing. It does work well though, but Harvey works well with everything.

Put a nice Patrick Gif in your sig and we can put that to the test

I seriously think a holiday with Niamh and myself would be too much for a mortal man... so Jesus would probably be okay.

I like the sightseeing and shopping parts of holidays, discovering places that you've never seen before and all of that . I also like to relax but I'm not really one for sitting out on the beach all day, it feels like wasting time.

Is that because they'd be bored to death with you two?

I love both city breaks and lazy beach holidays.. The main things for me on holiday regardless of where I am is, not having to cook, not having to clean, getting up when I wake up and doing whatever I please when I please.

I do like looking round cities like I did on my last holiday but I do prefer just sunbathing by the pool and reading a book and listening to music or down by the beach doing the same thing. But I would go on a sightseeing break again

Hate holidays just spent at the beach in like Spain or something, such a waste i think. My parents have always took us to cultural places where we can fully immerse etc
well usually its like 7/8 days of sightseeing and then 3/4 days of laying at the beach doing nothing, before going home :)

I'd rather sightsee with my family and do the whole going out thing with a group of friends.

Bit of sightseeing broken up by trips to bars and restaurants is best, maybe one or two lazy beach days thrown in there too

That's for a summer holiday, for a winter one I would say a bit of skiing broken up by trips to bars and restaurants, maybe one or two lazy days around the hotel/town thrown in there too

Haven't been on holiday since I was 12 (now in my 30s). So i'm a sit in the house and do nothing type of holiday goer.

Sightseeing would be my favourite. I hate flying out to a new country only to sit around all day doing nothing. I do enough of that back home!

If youre going on holiday you have to have a few lazy beach days where you sit on the sand, mess around in the sea and drink ice cold drinks and eat ice-cream all day. Gotta have a few days out such as visiting a water/theme park or the zoo and a few for sight-seeing trips such as a going up a volcano or to a well-known town. A boat trip is always fun as well.

If I was with a group of mates, hitting all the bars and clubs at night would be awesome. If with family would be perhaps having a stroll at night, stopping at a few bars, depending on how good the hotel entertainment is that night.

my favourite holiday types are relaxing ones. I love to swim in the pool then lounge on the sun lounger reading, then take a leisurely stroll around the shops spending money. I also like to sit on the balcony drinking wine, watching the world go by and having deep conversations with my husband. I am also a stickler for fabulous scenery. Roll on May when I go to Spain! Oh and of course I love to eat!

Haven't been abroad since 2005 :( and that was for about 2 days in Barcelona

I would definitely be more of a new york/london person though, I'd be immensely bored just sitting on a beach all day

I love seeing the world... I'm always looking up city breaks and figuring out the cheapest way to get to places I'd like to see and calculating how much money I'd need to save up before I could go and do it... I like going to obscure places, if I've read about something interesting, I want to go and see it. I've never been interested in going further afield than Europe - the furthest I've ever been is the Turkish coast on the far outskirts of Europe.

My mental checklist of places I really want to go see at the moment...

Munich, Stuttgart and wider Bavaria
Tyrol (Austria and Italy)
St Petersburg and Moscow
Vilnius and Kaliningrad
Copenhagen and Stockholm
Dresden
