A great talent who wasted her potential and unfortunately her demons overcame her. At least she was able to have her wonderful voice heard and she left us a few glittering moments of brilliance in among all the problems she had.

what a woman.

her addiction was horrible but her talent was outstanding and i'm glad more people know her for her voice rather than the addiction that killed her.

Omg, 2 years? Such a shame- fantastic talent. I remember I just got back to the hotel after a day out and it came on the telly and I was so so shocked. :(

first and only celeb who has made me cry when hearing about their death. Back to Back was the first (and one of the only) albums I ever bought.

Forgot all about this. Although, I did immediately think of Amy Winehouse when I saw the thread title. Ironic also how I was reading an article about her just yesterday.

I was never a fan of her music, but she was a big talent nonetheless. R.I.P.

I remember I was at the cinema and saw Horrible Bosses that day and my best friend got a BBC alert to his phone that she'd died. My ex that I was going out with at the time loved Amy Winehouse and we'd been on the phone just before I went into the cinema. Didn't really bother me when she passed away because I have very strong feelings towards drug and alcohol related deaths but it really was a tragic loss for the music industry... perhaps most of all because she had so much potential to be a true legend... very few such people appear every generation but she was one of them - she paved the way for the likes of Adele, Mutya (with her solo album, obv she was well established before that), Duffy... to release jazzy, bluesy pop music and it is very sad that she couldn't get the help she needed to get her life back together and get back to what she was best at doing... :(

Can't believe it's two years ago, doesn't seem like a year has passed.
