Maybe I've just never had good crumpets before but I thought they were dry, vaguely unpleasant and extremely overrated.

they're totally different, they're thicker, smaller, fluffier, buttery, really sweet... mmmmm they're so good!

Anybody ever had a Staffordshire oatcake? We get them in our Tesco's down in Sheffield and they are beautiful toasted with some butter on top or folded over with cheese.
