Coloured jeans and chinos

Do you, or would you, wear jeans, chinos or trousers that stray beyond the accepted norm? Inspired by an article on BBC about men wearing red trousers, it occurred to me that I really despise coloured jeans and think people who wear them (of both genders) are ridiculous. Black, grey and blue are all fine enough colours for jeans, white if you're a woman in the summer, but other than that I think it starts to stray into stupid territory. Pisses me off seeing people wearing red chinos or green jeans. What do you think?

It's weird that women can pull off wearing white jeans but men end up looking farcical in them - either they look really sleazy, really camp or really Bohemian... I've never yet come across a man wearing white jeans without feeling some sort of sharp judgment the second I saw him.

I think some people can get away with the different colours, like dark greens and dark reds.

But when you get into the bright pink jeans and yellow ones then it gets a bit too much.

guilty of owning bright red jeans, and blue ones, to be honest those were from my scene kid days but I sometimes still wear them.

About 6/7 years ago, the old posh farmers in my parents village all took to wearing bright coloured jeans and shirts. It was really bizarre as they must have been between 50-60. It sprung up out of nowhere, and the "craze" died out about a year later (probably with the farmers tbh). My ma used to call them cocoons in pastel.

My green chinos and green shorts are actually my favourite pants. I also own grey, orange, yellow, white etc so I don't know. I wear the more 'out there' less frequently, but I still think they can look nice, if you have the right combo.

I've never liked chinos but I don't hate them as much as I used to, having seen some people with nice pairs on after about a year of seeing utter wankers parading around in lurid colours :laugh:
