View Full Version : Would you go out with someone if they had a tattoo?
You like the person enough to go out with them but you discover they have a tattoo somewhere that isn't normally on display (stomach, back or something similar) - would you still go out with them?

I'd wonder why they felt the need to self-mutilate.

Of course I would, I wouldn't let something like that put me off something, anyways I like tattoos.

Gav has a tattoo and I married him lol I don't mind tattoos (except when people have way too much of them)
Sure why not? I have one tattoo on my upper arm, my name in Japanese. Some people just like a little personalisation

So long as it's not anywhere noticeable like on their face then I wouldn't care.

Depends what the tattoo is of. If it is an exes name then probably not.
Some tattoos are quite beautiful however.

If it was a exs name it probably be offputting, but i'd just ask them to get it like covered over. any other type of tattoo would be fine, I think tattoos are beautiful and I want to get a few myself.
Especially if they had a tattoo...

I was poking fun at the Daily Mailesque thread. If I was to list the top 5 female celebrities I admire, they almost certainly all would have at the very least, one tattoo.

Tip for the girls: If you fancy a bloke with a teardrop tat on his face, it would probably be advisable to walk the other way
Same goes for a Cardiff City tattoo

Any tattoos which are visible when wearing beachwear are probably inadvisable. They will repel as many as they will attract.
And just think how they will look when you are 40+ ?

Plenty of people are against tattoos; my mum always used to say she'd flip out if we brought home someone who was covered in tattoos (which is obviously different to having one tattoo; but for some people it could be a deal breaker)

I used to go by that statement "they'll look silly when you're older" but then nobody is going to look as good as they did when they were younger so why would it matter? I'm going to be old and wrinkly regardless of whether I get a tattoo or not . I've never wanted to get one, I just changed my mind about that particular point as I got older.

You will hopefully not be old and wrinkly before you are about 70-80.
It's the years from about 35-40 until then that you need to think about.
Tattoos visible when wearing normal clothing look a bit chavvy, in my opinion and - far more importantly - the opinion of many employers. Friend of mine has been turned down for jobs because of tattoos which would be visible to clients.

I don't mind tattoos but I hate it when people are pretty much covered in them. Quality over Quantity.

I'm not a fan of visible tattoos either, I'd never get a tattoo myself I don't think but I think as long as you were getting the tattoo for an important reason that mattered to you throughout your life you would never regret getting it.

Surely there are tattoos that wash off after a while?
If you are desperate to distract attention from your natural looks surely temporary tattoos are better option: and you can change them whenever you want.
And you're not stuck with them for life.
Is that what they call it these days?
