Its an external battery. It lets you charge your ipod/smart phone/camera on the go. And depending on the size you buy, you can charge your device from dead to full charge, six whole times. So glad I discovered this.

don't say that :( the reviews don't reckon it breaks easily, maybe that was just yours.
i chose mine to have an average capacity so it isnt so bulky, it about the same size as my ipod

Well mine was cheap and I expected it to be a bit crappy. It's still useful thoughon train journeys etc :)
