How do you pronounce trolling?

I've recently been informed that "trolling" is supposed to be pronounced like "trawling", which makes so much sense but I just cannot get used to it - I've said it "trolling" as in troll under the bridge for such a long time, rather than trawl or the troll sound in trolley. :o

Trawling is a completely different word, though. It's just transferable to a baiting situation.

Troll is derived from the obnoxious monsters from childrens tales. The person who gave you that information was wrong, and I'd probably cut off all future contact from them if I were you.

Trawl, Shawl, fall and wall all have long sounding awwwww sounds in them for me where as Doll has a kind of a shorter ol sound :laugh: this is hard to describe with no sound
