Do they wait nearly a year to bring out the winners album? Just seems ridiculously late and most people forget about them by then. Is there an actual reason for it? Don't see them being able to plug it on the live shows of the next season being a good reason

Just cause it's easier to promote, generally anyone who releases an album before the next series flops really badly, like Marcus whatshisface and that boyband

It's pretty much the only reason. I think they'd still chart well without that particular promo (but it does help a lot), but for winners like McElderry, Cardle and (watch this space) Arthur, they'll need it.

Also I think some of them don't want to release just covers they want their own songs. I think that was why Alex released hers so late and I know Leonas was the first to do this year past x factor but I don't know if that was the reason or not.

That's probably just being how long it takes them to get the album finished.

I think Little Mix are the only winners to put out their first single before the live shows start.

James had an album good to go even when the show hadn't finished (I know that it'll end up being something completely different to his stuff but still)
