Lack of diversity in the Channel 5 casts?

In the past trillion BBs and CBBs they've had on C5, there's been about 8 or 9 ethnic minorities. Remember when C4 used to cast people from different ethnic backgrounds, cultures etc so that we could see how their differences would pan out and also so everyone could have someone they could relate too. BB5, BB6, BB7 and BB10 were all so amazing because the cast was so diverse, nowadays in the civilian and celeb versions you get the odd minority, if even that.

Maybe I'm the only one who gets annoyed by this, but I just think casting-wise they could do so much better.

erm channel 5 have been diverse (not BB12)... there was Daley, Dexter and Gina this year. And this CBB series has had a REALLY diverse age range.

I agree it's max 2 non whites but then again C5 Desmond is about white people. When did you last see an Asian or black person on front cover of Ok! Mag.

There are no ethnic Albanians in this years cast. Big brother is prejudice against ethnic Albanians. I'm calling OFCOM this is an outrage.

As a whole C5 go for a very samey type of cast. BB12 was trash, BB13 was assholes, BB14 was media***** gameplayers. They're just lazy and not interested in creating an actual entertaining social experiment.

With normal BB they still play it safe with housemate selections but I must say that BB14 was by far the best 'cast' since it started on c5

Next year I want them to go all out, I want the C4-like freaks and at least 4 ethnic people to make up for the lack of them for the past few series. And let's be real; it's the ethnic

This is a diverse cast. It's just not as ethnically diverse as some have been. It is culturally diverse, it has a wide age range, a gay bloke and a trans woman.

I don't much care what ethnicity housemates are tbh, and I think its ridiculous and stereotypical to say ethnic housemates are more entertaining or whatever. Thats down to personality, not colour.

I'm fine with housemates being picked on entertainment and just happen to be ethnic but picking them purely based on that for some sort of PC box-ticking is absolute tokenism and as Marsh says positive discrimination. I'm fed up with all these constant threads moaning about the lack of diversity, as if it actually means anything.

I'm sure a huge variety of occupational backgrounds go to audition, lets not assume 2 out of every 14 people who audition for Big Brother are models and most the other 12 are wanabees.

Just maybe someone has worked out that percentage wise there were too many ethnic minorities appearing in the programme. Why do they have to have 2 Americans? They are not representative of the UK.
Then we have to include the bi's, trans or homo. You soon run out of places trying to fit in all so called distinct groups.

The audience for BBOTS is over weighted towards ethnic groups.
It does not matter to me I just like to see an interesting group their origins do not matter to me.
