Doesn't this guy pull a strop every year then close down his site for "the final time".

How can you run a fansite and constantly close it down when things down go your own way.

If he makes his living from it then it's unprofessional, if not then... Well... All I can say is, there's nothing to be gained from continuing to run a big website for no personal gain if you're no longer enjoying it or its causing undue stress.

Me and my partner ran a site / forum (not BB related) for nearly 4 years, but gave it up a few months ago because of the stress it was causing and we just weren't enjoying running it any more. It was painful to let it go as we had built it from the ground up but... It was causing stress and arguments that were spilling over into family life. Just not worth it. So if it's not fun for the person running it any more - then I fully understand shutting it down.
