Bruce Jones is reportedly the lowest-paid Celebrity Big Brother housemate of all time.
The former Coronation Street actor is earning £15,000 for his appearance on the Channel 5 show, while his former on-screen wife Vicky Entwistle has a deal worth £150,000, the Sunday Mirror claims.
Jones, who played Les Battersby on the ITV soap, is thought to have turned down £55,000 to take part in the reality show last year.
However, he agreed to be reunited with Entwistle, who played Janice Battersby, due to financial troubles that have seen him become a mechanic.
The 60-year-old has previously spoken of his battles with alcohol and depression following his axe from Corrie in 2007.
He was sacked after revealing plot lines and insulting fans to an undercover reporter. He also received a suspended jail sentence in 2010 for drunkenly yanking the wheel of his wife's car on a dual carriageway.
Jones and Entwistle were forced to share a double bed together during their first night on Celebrity Big Brother after their fellow contestants voted them the most famous housemates

I feel sorry for this guy .
He looks kind of lost all the time ,sad individual.
If this is true?...then it makes me want Bruce to do exceptionally well in order to reap whatever the benefits of winning might be!...But how can 'the nobodies' in there command a bigger fee than a 'celebrity' that has had a pretty successful career, and is known nationwide ???? :conf:...somethings wrong here.

It does seem very unfair. Would like to see him do well now to be honest.

Why did he agree to such a low offer?
If Vicky is getting 150k?!

If it is true he should have held out for at least last years offer.
Don't suppose he has an agent now.
I am quite curious as to who actually got paid what:hugesmile:

Does that mean he got paid less than CBB7's Katia? Bobby Sabel?

150,000 grand is even more unbelievable.

150,000 grand is even more unbelievable.
It's shocking that anyone gets paid such a high amount to essentially do nothing for three weeks
It's hardly tough work, is it?!
Not sure whether I believe this, why would he accept 15k if he turned down 55 last year? :suspect:
If it's true then it's pretty sad :(

Not sure it's the lowest.
Jack Tweed and Jackiey Budden got paid 10k each for CBB5.

Must have been exceptionally desperate.
After thinking about this Erinp...I'm not so sure of it's authenticity?...sounds too unbelievable that Vicky would be paid 10x the figure quoted for Bruce.
Where did you get this info?..[sorry if I missed something]
....And it has also set me off wondering who the highest paid guest was???
...Does anyone know??...Was it Barrymore, one of the Jacksons, Madsen, Vinnie Jones???...just interested...thanks.

It could be true because someone said that Vicky only got asked to do the show like last Friday which would probably mean it's because someone dropped out...the 150k could've been for someone like Bobbi Kristina Brown or Big Boi so they just gave it to someone else in the spare of the moment and Bruce was already doing it.

I didn't realise this was the same guy, sounds pretty unstable. I actually remember driving past that crash.
I just read a news story where he said he found one of body of one of the Yorkshire Rippers victims in an allotment bush.. Is this true?!
It's pretty crazy that one of the pair voted most famous in the house is being paid so little

Hmm but it states in the article he done it to be reunited with Vicky so they must have already known she was going in before Bruce signed up
I googled the thread title, and it came up with the Mirror for the news item - link here (http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/celebrity-big-brother-2013-bruce-2218629). Not sure I believe it, especially from that rag. They are not exactly a BB paper.

Thanks for the link Suze!....The Mirror eh!...that's it then, I definitely don't believe it will have much basis in reality then! :nono:....I mean, come on...the article says that Bruce is now working as a mechanic on £120. per week!!...Yeah right!...Mechanics only get £120 a week! :joker:

I'd imagine a few of the Americans must have taken decent amounts? Michael Madsen apparently got £300,000 and "The Situation" took £250,000.
I believe Speidi got 500k dollars, which is roughly £320,000... though technically I guess that's "only" £160k each.
Maybe others like Coolio? I do want to know who the highest has been :D.
It's actually possible that their "cap" is 500k in dollars, and that's probably what Madsen got as well as Speidi, as info for Madsen says "around" £300k, and like I said 500k dollars is 320k pounds.

Accepting a low amount is self-defeating as the producers will always try and keep the high paid hms in the house via twists, tasks etc (to get moneys worth) and a " once famous tabloid darling, now forgotten " celeb like bruce needs 3 week bb exposure to secure more lucrative panto, tv work and appearance fees post cbb. If he were up for eviction first the producers would ensure he left as it would cost them a mere £15k.
The problem with most soap actors - regardless of age- is it's often their first big role and the role that lands them the household name status which thus typecasts them and makes it almost impossible to do anything else beyond 3 years of panto. So alternative non-acting opportunities need to be carefully managed as acting work dries up. Uk Soap actors rarely crack Hollywood and for every Rob Thomas Collier (corrie to megahit downton abbey) there's at least 20 of Jack Ryder
He should have done his research on fees, realised his worth (at worst £90k, but between £100- 180k he's actually more tabloid fodder than vicky), corrie is hot news with the high profile sex child allegations, and recently the axed " rape rapper " actor.
Even though none of this corrie controversy came to light in Bruce's Coronation Street era, he and Vicki could have shed light as corrie is uk's no 1 show and arevery topical hms in a way that Danielle, Dustin, Lauren and Abz aren't.

seems like channel 5 are taking advantage of a drunk, desparate man for tv ratings.
