View Full Version : Why hasn't Ron been physically removed from the house yet?

That was one of the most disgusting, backward things I have heard in a while and from someone who you would assume would be extra careful after his career collapsed when he was caught on mic displaying his true colours...
I can picture him now in the privacy of his home or with fellow racists making highly offensive statements about Blacks, Muslims , Polish or anyone who isn't what he deems to be....WHITE.
What a caveman...a real neanderthal.
Furthermore..BB have really messed up with the 'warning's this year...e.g
1) Gina should have recieved a final warning for that disgusting 'race' card she pulled within five seconds of an argument she
was losing with Jemima and instead warned Jemima!!
2) Carol Mcgiffin warned for repeating a bad word when she was merely describing what happend and then bb themselves repeating it!
..let's not get carried away..

No reason at all to remove him, he accepted the warning, he realised it was inappropriate.
BB were right to do that too in the light of how things are as to what you can and cannot say on TV and what is acceptable too.
I would like to add a 'but' to it all ,however,I have decided I will keep my thoughts to myself as to this.

Most of them would be on minimum wage jobs, or no jobs at all, if we didn't prize so highly the ability to kick a ball from one end of a field and to the other........... multiple times!
Funny old world, eh? ;)

Emily in BB8 got removed over racist language, and she too knew it was wrong. She used it in a joking way, Ron however was making it quite obviously being racist in a derogatory way and assuming those who wear head scarves are going to own bombs.

A lot of this is missing the point that it is a back-covering exercise by BB.
Had they NOT issued a warning, there would be a multitude of complaints to Ofcom.
From their point of view it is better to issue the warning and put up with (i.e. ignore!) a few whinges on the internet!

Well I am black. :joker: But did you hear the initial remark that got him sacked? He called Emile a lazy nijah. People that have this kind of thinking may be harmless in the sense that they won't go around at night wearing masks and attacking those they hate, but it's not harmless in the sense that people that have these views make for uncomfortable every day living or situations. Like did you watch that experimental series where a mixed race couple were in Manchester. The waiter was being so racist and nobody said a word. It's harmful in that way that you feel people are against you, or have an idea of it which isn't correct and it can be depressing. Imagine a little muslim girl now not knowing any better starts going around crying to her mum people are scared of me just because I wear this. that's sad.

Totally agree with this post.
I don't mind people making racial jokes about my race.
If it's funny, i'll laugh
If it's not, i won't . Simple as that.
It's not something that would bother me personally.
I wish everyone saw it that way.
Jokes are jokes but real racism is something else. When you have been on the receiving end of actual racial abuse - you know the difference, whatever your creed or colour.

so you wouldn't mind a pint with big ron? Knowing in the back of his mind he could be thinking what a nijah. Or you make a certain joke, or do a certain stereotypical thing and he chuckles, pfft typical. People like this typically think other races are beneath them. they might not be the most vulgar of racist but still uncomfortable.

Obviously, that's not an acceptable comment but he's from a different time.
I know, that's not a real excuse but for people of this generation being sensitive to other cultures and PC is ingrained in our heads - it's second nature.
The older generations have had to adapt themselves to it when the other way of thinking and speaking was already their nature. I don't think Ron is malicious in his comments - he's just ignorant and naive.
It's tough - I think the warning was the right way to go though

Well, no. I'd much rather he abandon such thinking altogether. But it is not the job of Celebrity Big Brother to re-educate people nor to fight the good fight against racism. It's an entertainment show. It has certain responsibilities and one of them is ensuring racist language and humor is not used within the house.
A lot of people engage in such humour without really considering what it is they're actually saying with their jokes. Challenging that humour is good (imo) and healthy. Pillorying someone for lazy stereotyping and unintended offence is less helpful. Better to explain why it is offensive and then let them ponder that.
People don't change their minds on something because you go in hard, They change their minds because you give them compelling reasons to do so.

I'm surprised he hasn't come out with any trans phobic comments yet either. He's a proven racist as he has made several racist comments before and therefore shouldn't have been accepted on the show in the first place.
But racists, who so easy to defeat in anr argument and make them look stupid, the whole human race comes from the rift in east africa in the first place so what's all this sh*t about race, racists are like people who can't cope with someone being trans, they don't like anyone whop doesn't conform, and there's nothing stranger or weirder in my opinion than people who have to conform
I mean how stupid is it that people have to conform to certain ideas of what gender, race, class etc are just because they have been told these are the ways things have to be by the media, about time people stopped being led into being divided by racism, or any other kind of phobia by the rich who own the media
they are just controlling people as they don't want us to unite against them of course, nothing weirder than going along and conforming with their agenda to divide and control the gen public.

I think he'll get along just fine with Lauren. He seems the type who paints whole cultures with a broad brush but takes individuals on merit.

Which he is entitled to do. How do we know what you think about in the privacy of your own home? Are you trying to control and legislate against people's thoughts now?
