I don't hate anyone, that's a rather harsh statement to make. I don't particularly like Ron.. nor do I Danielle or Vicky, but there's not a rule stating I should do.

I never said you shouldn't dislike anyone, but it's just that you wrongly accused me at the start of the show of being blinkered by Ron support because I rightly heard loud cheers for him.

Why am I soooo not surprised Ron would have nominated Lauren? He might have (for once!) tried to dress it up with a thin veil of PC-speak...Thank goodness Vicky was there...
Either way Louie would've been going up

Well it was all being left to Ron anyway, I wondered if Vicky was ever going to make a contribution at all.
I am glad they picked Louie but he will not go unfortunately.

Picking Lauren would have been fine for me too, however again, she wouldn't be going either.

I really wanted to give Ron a chance but basically:

A) He's a dullard and should have gone tonight
B) For his own sake I think he needs to leave before he says something that will ensure his career never ever resurrects
C) There's something about him that idk...just is weird. The whole 'I'm keeping a lid on a lot of things', the questionable headscarf remark after his history with the n word incident, the fact he barely says anything in conversations with people...he just gives off this impression that he has a lot of let's say...outdated opinions and he feels like he has to stay quiet so as not to create another incident that destroyed his career, and now that he's just said 'Lauren is intriguing' I'm even more worried about what exactly he's thinking...

If Ron had picked Courtney this place would have post after post saying Ron hates blond bimbos or something etc. If he had picked Charlotte for being crude and loud then even more hate knowing that Charlotte likes him, If he had chosen Carol folk would say he has it in for older women who speak their minds and likes a drink. The poor guy can't win. But the best part of all of this is that all the haters don't realise that the more they hate on Ron the more people will root for Ron. lol

If he's a racist for ONCE saying that word then black rappers who constantly call eachother that word are just as bad.

Hang on a minute, when have I 'banged on about him saying the n word'? Actually before this post I think I may have only ever mentioned it once before on this forum...so please don't put words into my mouth.

I was actually willing to give him a chance (as I am all the housemates) upon entering and having had no idea who he was and only learning of the incident that destroyed his career a week ago I, like you, was of the opinion (and often am in these cases) that people deserve second chances and they shouldn't be labelled for their entire life because of one incident.

However, he made a very questionable comment about relating wearing headscarves to terrorism  so forgive me and others for linking this incident with his previous history and the fact that he clearly stated to Bruce 'I'm having to keep a lid on a lot of things in here' also whilst not really seeming to engage in many conversations in the house, instead just going 'hmm...yeah, yeah, hmm...', so I mean it's natural for me to be intrigued as to what exactly he's 'keeping a lid on' and be worried about the potential content judging by his history and the fact that he even made a comment of that calibre in the house knowing full well his career was destroyed for stuff like that.

Part of me thinks he needs to leave for his own sake because I feel quite sorry for him that I think he wants to obviously clear his name but if he's going to make remarks like that it's not going to happen and that makes me (strangely) feel bad for him in a way.

But then the other part just thinks well :conf: I'm sorry but what exactly about Lauren is 'intriguing'? You put two and two together 'I'm having to keep a lid on things in here' and it seems perfectly reasonable for myself and others to question whether his inner thoughts are ones that are, as I said...um...outdated...

So do you expect a 74 year old man to be bloody childish and entertaining and do ballet moves or pirouettes like Louie?

No but I expect him to you know, actually contribute to the show...

So why do you find Louie entertaining? Cause apart from all that dancing b.s what else does he actually do that is entertaining

The fact that he's cutthroat and doesn't give a sh*t and is being openly critical and is pissing some people off is what makes him a good housemate, that leads to the potential for drama which is of course miles better than watching Ron go 'hmm...yeah, yeah'

Fair enough.

I think all HM's should be judged from what they do in the house, but with celebrities it's a bit tougher.
I think you have a fair point but I'm just being really honest in saying I won't take the time to look up about his career, I've heard he was good with his footballing career and made a racist comment and that's about it. I don't think your comment was really directed my way anyway because I didn't say anything about his comments :)

But that doesn't mean Ron dislikes Lauren because of the trans gender issue, we don't even know Ron dislikes Lauren at all.

He might not get the whole trans gendered thing, but then im 39 and I don't get it either TBH...but that hardly makes him transphobic or that he wanted to nominate Lauren for those reasons.

Being old and not modern isn't a crime. :joker:

but that is all opinion. In my opinion he has contributed more than anyone else, you would obviously disagree but neither of us are wrong or right. Everyone is entertained differently
