He isn't "innocent" technically as he knowingly broke the law and is therefore a criminal. However, that doesn't mean he wasn't morally correct to do so. There are countless laws designed to oppress, and plenty of people who would be branded "criminals" for daring to go against unjust laws or reveal things that "they" don't want to be revealed.

George Carlin said it best when talking about the federal reserve and capitalism and the corruption in government it inevitably leads to.

An American soldier who stole thousands of top secret documents and gave them to wikileaks, who then published them all online.

He was charged and tried and found guilty, after being sentenced he decided he wanted to be called Chelsea!

I confess I know nothing about this Bradley Manning situation. And upon reading I got bored and still don't understand ****. Can someone explain in primary school style? :(He gave some documents to wikileaks one of the worst being a video called collateral murder that showed the american army murdering a bunch of civillians and a journalist with a camera that they claimed was a rocket launcher when it was clear to see it wasnt.
Then someone driving their children to school pulled up to help someone that was injured so they opened fire and murdered them as well. The children were injured but still alive so a couple of soldiers tried to help them and get them evacuated but were ordered to leave them behind. :(

The pilots of the helicopter were laughing about it while it was happening.

It made the american murderers look bad so they locked Bradley Manning up for 3 years in solitary confinement before sentencing him to 35 years in prison.

Most Americans are so patriotic and lied to that they will defend Amurrica even when they shouldnt its laughable really.

He should be held a hero I think for exposing this. He doesn't deserve 35 years in my opinion although he knew what the consequences would be so I suppose he was willing to pay the price for this.

Haven't watched the videos yet, afraid to, although I will watch after bb. Thanks guys. This proves that "top secret" was invented just to cover the governments arse:nono: But look it's stuff like this that make me think, when US has something as terrible as the Boston bombings happen, they expect the whole world to sympathise and stop. But yet they are doing similar to other countries that can't defend themselves and they lie about their supposed weapons of mass destruction to excuse invasion. :bawling::bawling:

But make your own mind up some people think he is a hero and some want him dead for daring to listen to his conscience instead of loyalty to his corrupt goverment.

Some corners of society are of the belief that even the boston bombing was instigated by the american government. They are easily the most corrupt in the world.

OK. Since you asked.

Bradley Manning was an intelligence officer. He observed that US troops were being used to identify political opponent of the the govt. These people were arrest and never seen again. POLITICAL opponents wiped out, delivered bu US intelligence, labeled terrorists, then imprisoned, jailed, tortured and killed. This is precisely what Manning reported to his bosses, and told to ignore.

The THING is: People who vilify him for not going down the official route haven't a leg to stand on. HE DID! He brought his concerns to his commanding officers, and they told him to ignore it.
He is a remarkable young man for taking his concerns beyond, to the point where he faced a huge prison sentence. He is a HERO, possibly the greatest hero of our time.

No.........I agree with Nemo's argument which is well explained with plenty of back up narrative and reading. I think some of the other Posts arguing against Mr/Ms Manning have no substance in them at all.....

Personally I feel this person has taken a stand for the greater good to try and highlight some grave injustices being carried out under the banner of War. He may be a little misguided in the way he has done this but his motives are genuine and to sentence him to 35 years in Jail is Shameful.........!!!

Jesus.

35 years... how long is that for every document he released? I hope he never comes out.

If they hadn't jailed him for a long time it would have opened the floodgates for everyone who suddenly decides to do their own thing.

Half a million documents. Not twenty, not a hundred... half a million.

If you're going to display a picture of the traitor as your avatar, it would be great if you could show him as he chooses to appear now, and not wearing the uniform he disgraced.

What does it matter is it was one or a million, if you feel that there are things that need to be in the public arena then that's what you have to do.
It's not being a traitor it's being humanitarian, far from disgraceful I feel that these acts are to be applauded.
Conformity is not mandatory, yet.
