yeah giving pills to Courtney was bad but she trying to help her.
she has no friends at all and don't mix with people and she really wants friends and being to clingy because she wants friends, I've been there done that and its the most horrible feeling.
i feel Sophie is picking on Lauren and there was no need for Bruce to go off on one.
her chat to the diary room breaking down made me feel quite sad because i feel sorry for her, it is not her fault the way she is. i actually had a tear because people are being unfair on her. she just wants friends

She just wants friends, but as you say this is leading her to be clingy. As horrible as it is to be the one doing the clinging, it can also be unpleasant being clung to.
Feel very sad for where she is at, but I couldn't spend more than an hour or so in her company. She'd be too draining.

I think it was a fairly unwise move for lauren to enter the house. I'm not sure she is strong enough. If she is nommed again and evicted it's going to push her closer to the edge. I feel desperately sorry for her, she has led too much of a closeted life tocopewith rejection on this scale. I can only hope she wins and finds the acceptance she needs.
Having said that, I agree with Dana, she would be very draining to be around

That wouldn't really bother me, so long as she didn't love me. I would make sure that she knows that I am straight anyway.
It's good what you've said about Lauren previously.Just making something clear, Lauren probably is not gay, being gay and being transgender are two different things so she is probably a straight woman too, but everyone's choice of course who they are OK with sexually.
You may have understood that gay and transgender are different things but I'm sure many others reading won't, as it is one of the most common misconceptions about transgendered people, that we are either gay or transvestites.
These things are totally different and being trans is about identity it is about our brains being the gender we think we are but that brain is trapped in the wrong body because of something which went wrong at conception.
So being trans is about identity not sexuality and sexually we could be anything although most of us are straight too.

Lauren is the creepiest housemate in BB history.
Why is she creepy. Is it because she is trans. Her mother told us that she has a back problem so that explains the awkward walk and her face doesn't look good.
She's either went to a bad surgeon or had too much filler or botox put in, but do any of you realise how hard it is to get all the things we need to make our bodies look convincing.
It takes years of exhaustive psychiatric assessment to get permissions then we are forced to go out in public before we look that convincing to get the permission for just one op at the end of the day and in order to look really convincing we need to raise a bit over £30,000 ourselves to get the other ops we need.
The reason for only getting one op at end of day when the official authorities know we need more and that it is not our fault there was an accident at our conception
is of course decision makers daren't fund more things for us as they have political connections who are frightened of a back lash at elections by uneducated public who know nothing about why trans people were created
the brain of one gender trapped inside the body of the other.

Shoot me down in flames for saying it, but no matter how much she changes her body to that of a woman, genetically speaking, she is male. You cannot change a person's genes. Sure, she can alter her appearance, undergo a sex change, and even take male hormones, but her cells were born male, and will continue to be male. It's her genetic make-up right from conception. I think that's partly why she looks older than she is, because her face is trying to be that of a woman's, when quite frankly, it's not masking the masculine features. That coupled with the fact that she wears clothes much older than her age.
I'm sure this won't go down well with the Lauren-ites, but what I've stated isn't intended on being rude or derogatory to her in the slightest - it's just stating pure fact.

LAUREN ISN'T A FRUIT LOOP, she is too clingy though as she need friends as it can be very isolating being trans and hard to find a genuine friend so I understand it and understand Lauren's Anxiety and how she hides herself away from the world in her personal life probably because she doesnt trust people out there to be OK with her as transgender. She's been abused and had thing thrown through her widow so makes it hard to trust anyone else as it's a common thing for transgenders to receive abuse

I'd believe that if you hadn't already insisted on calling her Laurence.
And btw no, saying she is straight does not mean she sleeps with women. That would be straight if she was a man. She is a woman, and therefore being straight means she sleeps with men.
@ cfromhx02: she looks creepy because of her choice of clothes and makeup and the fact that she appears to be only vaguely present most of the time. Nothing to do with her being transgender. Someone being transgender doesn't mean they are completely deluded about the way they look to the world.
I've seen loads of pics of Lauren online where she did not look creepy. For some reason she's now decided to go for the Great Aunt Agatha / Whatever Happened to Baby Jane look. And that does look creepy, imo. The scoliosis is unfortunate, but wouldn't make her look like some bizarre octogenarian if it wasn't accompanied by GAA clothes and WHtBJ makeup.

As I understand it Lauren is a 'transwoman'.
By law she is female and it is unlawful to treat her as a male - her former gender although, chromosome-wise, she will always be male: the surgery she has had, and the oestrogen tablets (or injections) she takes cannot change the genetic makeup.

By law Lauren is a female.

There is no such gender as transgender.... only male or female.

What I don't understand, is why it matters so much to other people, what gender they are designated. What possible harm does it do to non transgender people to just accept them as their designated gender?

Depends how you use the word gender, really.
Usage Note: Traditionally, gender has been used primarily to refer to the grammatical categories of "masculine," "feminine," and "neuter," but in recent years the word has become well established in its use to refer to sex-based categories, as in phrases such as gender gap and the politics of gender. This usage is supported by the practice of many anthropologists, who reserve sex for reference to biological categories, while using gender to refer to social or cultural categories. According to this rule, one would say The effectiveness of the medication appears to depend on the sex (not gender) of the patient, but In peasant societies, gender (not sex) roles are likely to be more clearly defined. This distinction is useful in principle, but it is by no means widely observed, and considerable variation in usage occurs at all levels.
I don't have to watch this BB to see that Lauren knows how to play the game and play the sympathy card to the hilt and fair dos to her for doing so. Lauren I am sure will win, she will have enough Welsh and sympathy votes behind her as well as her fan votes, enough to see her through to win, and won't go with positive voting even if she is up every time. I am over BB after the last fiasco. BB nearly always engineer the result they want. It went wrong with Aaron for them and they were seething at that.
If I remember right, Lauren was a regular on the BB aftershows, and was particularly over the top nasty to winner Aaron. Lauren knows exactly what she is doing whilst in that house, and it wouldn't surprise me if she is the next co presenter of BOTs alongside Rylan, who also had the 'he needs to stay in there, he needs the win, it will help him' angle, rubbish shoved sharply down our throats, same as Lauren is now.
Maybe Lauren's family are awful to her, but no excuse for her to behave just as bad at times.

I need to explain something with an example... The word pull should not exist. So Newton, and Einstein both calling Gravity attraction or pull messed them up with science. I don't want to be messed up by using the wrong words. Gravity is a push force. And just by taking the word 'pull out of the dictionary you get the correct answer.

yes, I saw that in your post about the SuperGuess.
What I am curious about is in what capacity you are 'working on' these things?
I ask because in that same piece about the super guess, you seem very disparaging of people with physics PhDs.

I'm working on the Theory Of Everything. Science from scratch, I screwed up Newton's work, and Einstein's work, and started again.

ok.
Again though, since the fact that you 'work in science' has been offered as an explanation for your attitude towards word usage, in what capacity are you working on these things?

On my own, at home with a computer. If you Google Pincho Paxton there is only me that comes up. You will see that I am banned from all of the science forums. They all banned me because you are not supposed to post your own science in science forums. You have to post Newton, and Einstein, and the Standard Model. So I work on my own.
But what did eventually happen, is that over 10 years scientists changed science, and it started to look a lot like what I posted 10 years ago. Then the things that I said were in space were found by telescopes. But now I am still 10 years ahead, because those 10 years I still worked on my theory. So I still can't post my new ideas without getting banned.
Being always 10 years ahead is like always being wrong. But I'm not wrong, I just look wrong.

Anyway, my point is that words have to be precise, and gender has to be precise. Unless you want to screw with your head. I agreed to use the word Transgender. But that does not join with straight in any way.

I take a lot of science with a large pinch of salt. Much of what we take for granted, because science tells us to, will be laughed at in a few centuries or even decades.
Once upon a time, eminent scientists told us the Earth was flat.......
However..... science is, or should be, based on the best evidence available. If it isn't, then it is guesswork.
Anyone can have lucky guesses, but it remains a guess if there is no supporting evidence.

Nice of Carol to encourage her to have a go at Sophie and then deny she'd ever slagged off Sophie herself!
Agreed I went right off Carol at that point, what a coward!

Again you have stored bad English. That's almost word for word what science tells you to say. It is not accurate.

It seems to me, if you are 'working in science' you are in the wrong job! Lol! :D
As I have said, I take much of what scientists say with a pinch of salt: that is hardly what I'm being told by science to say! ;)

OK. Evidence is always an Effect. The Universe works on Cause and Effect. I work on the Cause, there is never evidence of a cause. You have to deduce it like Sherlock Holmes. That's what I do. I deduce the cause, and predict the effects, and then telescopes find what I predicted. My theory is not based on the best evidence available, it is based on pure logic. Which means that I have to have a perfect brain with no lies in it.

Not really. That's a myth, I'm afraid. The idea that the world is a sphere has been accepted since late antiquity. Certainly during the middle ages scholars referred to the earth as a sphere, even as far back as Bede.
Besides, 'scientists' as we understand that term are a relatively recent thing. The scientific method as we understand it is relatively recent. And in the time that we have had such things, the notion of a flat earth has been the province of quacks and lunatics ;p
It's not what scientists tell us that needs the pinch if salt, imo, it's what gets reported of their findings. Scientists naturally try to break down their own models and caveat their findings to reflect the limitations of the known facts. It's how that then gets reported to the wider community that tends to bring in problems. We're the ones who demand that they tell us the absolute objective truth about something, whilst they hold their hands up and say, we can only tell you what happens if we do X to Y under Z conditions.

I don't think that's what he means by working in science. It's just something he does on his own on his computer.

Umm...no. Newton was part of the academic community. He was a fellow of Trinity College and Professor of Mathematics at Cambridge University.

Oh yeah. Some people work on their own though. I have no choice anyway, because I have changed everything. Nobody would have a clue how to work with me.

Anyway, getting back on topic, it seems that individuals like Lauren take some people way out of their comfort zone! ;)
That is not necessarily a bad thing at all. We all need, to one degree or another, to learn to be more accepting of 'difference', provided that difference does not harm others.

True, some people do work on their own. And, to be fair: strictly speaking, Newton was working alone when he came up with his main theory; but only for two years, whilst the university was closed due to plague.

As I understand it Lauren is a 'transwoman'.
By law she is female and it is unlawful to treat her as a male - her former gender although, chromosome-wise, she will always be male: the surgery she has had, and the oestrogen tablets (or injections) she takes cannot change the genetic makeup.
I agree,I said this before.I got infracted for it.Apparently that opinion is not allowed in here.Even though it is the truth.

Ok,I will retract 'Fruit Loop' and replace it with 'Has psychological issues'.I still feel sorry for Courtney though,Her experience must be hampered due to Laurens clingyness.

I think Courtney is pretty damaged anyway. Seeing this 19yr old sitting in the diary room with huge, discoloured faked boobs drooping down to her navel and thinking about her being married to someone older than her own father, makes me realise she has issues of her own.

Poor Courtney don't you mean. I feel sorry for her, shes desperate to mingle with other HMs but doesn't want to hurt Laurens feelings, she looks trapped.

[QUOTE=DanaC;6349459]I'd believe that if you hadn't already insisted on calling her Laurence.
To call her quite tongue in cheek a male version of her (I'm assuming) changed by deed poll name is considered offensive enough to have some of my posts removed, but to call other housemates derogatory words such as "wh**e", "prostitute" or "slapper" is acceptable and completely allowed on this forum?
Okay, I get it now. Be a sheep and toe the line and never, ever, under any circumstances, mention anything other than favourable comments about Lauren.
(Please note: I'm avoiding using the male version of the name, in order to people please, be a good little girl, and not have my posts removed. Hope that meets with approval).
