Every time I'm out and about now all I see is people engrossed in their mobile phones, crossing the road with the head down whilst staring at a phone, go into a restaurant and all around there is people sitting there staring at their phones and even in the cinema the first thing people do when they sit down is get out their phone.

And the worst one is when you are talking to someone and they get a text and stop mid conversation to reply to it, I find that extremely ignorant, fair enough if you need to check in case of emergencies and stuff like that but that's not the case a lot of the time, some people completely zone right in on their phones and are oblivious to everything round about them.

It goes on and on tbh...

I have posted a thread similar to this in SD a while back but not just about mobiles it was about technology in general, so what are peoples opinions on how dependent some have become on mobiles?

I don't mind being out for a drink with friends and they check their phones, but if I'm somewhere like the cinema, or at a restaurant, it's more noticeable and annoying.

It was the cinema that made me look around and think ffs, all the lights from the phones were doing my head in

I would rather not get texts from anyone but they just send them anyway, send a text and then another a few minutes later asking if you got that text, why haven't you replied etc.

**** off.

Where do I begin...
My mobile is stuck on a shelf somewhere, I only ever used it for when my daughter was getting the train back up North so I knew when she was landing etc, since I now use my iPad, it was asleep in the bottom of a handbag.
Charged it up a few weeks ago and it told me the sim was no longer functioning.
Must be too long since I last used it.
Put it away somewhere and can't remember where now.
Daughter is sending me her old iPhone as she has treat herself to a new one she reckons I will be able to do all sorts on it:joker: :joker: She is having a laugh.

If anyone is visiting me and their phone goes, they know they get 30 seconds to make their excuses before I give them the evils.
Same as when the kids were young, heaven forbid anyone tried to ring them at teatime:devil:

My daughter is always clamped to hers, it's so annoying.... Funnily I noticed it more on Thursday on a bus, everyone was on a phone it looked quite surreal.

Oh yes, God it bothers me so much, people have gotten so bloody rude when it comes to mobile phone etiquette. Also, I hate text messages, I hate writing them and I hate when someone like my brothers g/f texts me, her texts are always about 17 pages long and it's impossible to end the text conversation with her
