Sick of other people's opinions

After 14 long years I feel I am on the edge of quitting BB forever

The abuse directed at Lauren I've seen on here, digitalspy, twitter and Facebook has completely angered me

FM using poorly constructed arguements, using any tiny excuse they can think of (she's smothering Courtney (even though its never been shown to be one sided and Courtney is all over Lauren most of the time), using her past tv appearances and calling her nasty when she's shown nothing but love and kindness In that house and yearning for acceptance. People being selective with the conversations they're quoting just so it backs up their argument and validates their opinion of Lauren. Be complete hypocrites by bigging Charlotte up for seething but lambasting Lauren for doing the same thing.

Anything they can do to muddy the water. All the while backing their opinions up with a chorus of 'vile' and 'creepy' and 'ugly'

The majority of the hate is because of the way Lauren looks an because she's unconventional.

People for some reason don't like a nice, rounded decent person with a good heart and would rather tear them to shreds.

Still voting for the likes of Dexter, Rex, Marcus, Aaron etc etc

All (barr Aaron) of whome have shown, malice, nastiness, ruthless and mean personalities.

When it comes to Big Brother I am tired of other people's opinions these days!

The voting is run by teenies and the anti popular vote. No one else stands a chance!

..to be fair there have been a lot of personal comments about a lot of housemates and not just this season, Becky's looks were attacked last year as well...Lauren isn't being 'singled' out in anyway..I personally don't agree with it and think only their characters should be judged but it is the nature of forums and TiBB isn't nearly as bad as DS...

This is a public forum where opinions are exchanged. I know things can be heated at times, but no-one should be surprised that people can lose their rag a bit and become offensive. It's human nature to become passionate when defending their favourites. But OP why are you making such a song and dance of it? Awww, Ellie, I think Lauren is lovely and I really would like to see her win and go on to do good things. I supported Dexter but that doesn't make me a bad person and I hope you don't think I am. Its just we all see different things in people, I liked the entertainment value Dexter gave me and I also saw a nice side to him, yes he had his faults but who hasn't. We can't all agree on who we like and dislike. If it is upsetting you so much I would perhaps take a break. BB is just a gameshow and a bit of escapism from the 'real world' and I try to not take it too seriously, I have far bigger things in life to worry about than a person on TV I don't know and are never likely to get to know personally. I do know what you mean, I too see some people are quite horrid and rude about people and I think its uncalled for really but this is a discussion forum and we are going to come across all walks of life, some lovely people, some not so nice. Lauren is a very complex character physically, mentally and emotionally. She has taken the decision perhaps misguidedly to put herself under the BB spotlight and she may not like what she finds. I think she will come through it all however and in my opinion one to watch wrt winning CBB.

she isnt the nicest hm at all, knowhere near it, she has a downright nasty streak in her and used it time and time again when she was on bbots..you got abz in there and charlotte who both seem genuinly nice and caring, and just cause she's had a sex change and lives with her family at whatever age she is doen't make her complex.

I find her needy and pathetic to be honest. She rmindes me of a cartoon duck and I cant wait until she is booted out.

I warmed to her briefly, during the first week. But I don't much like her overall. There's a sweet side to her, yes; but she also seems emotionally manipulative, overly clingy and entirely self-centred.

I don't know whether she is emotionally manipulative and clingy because she hasn't had any friends and therefore has never learned to navigate an adult friendship, or if she hasn't had any meaningful adult friendships because she is emotionally manipulative and clingy, and has therefore pushed people away.

She's fascinating to watch, and I do feel for her, but I wouldn't want her in my social circle. Too high maintenance and draining.

Telling people who don't agree with you that they are 'shallow' or 'transphobic' is pretty 'nasty' in itself. Do you not see that?

The whole 'if you don't like Lauren you are transphobic' thing is way beyond a joke. Seriously.

I supported Luke A the whole way through BB13. Why? Because he was a kind, fair and genuinely nice guy. He just happened to be Transgender as well. The Transgender thing didn't influence my opinion of him in any way.

Neither did he resort to cheap suggestions of Transphobia everytime someone disagreed with him - unlike Lauren and unlike you.

Luke A was at constant loggerheads with Luke S throughout the series. Not once did he accuse him of 'transphobia'. Luke A was far too realistic with a sense of fair play to stoop that low. Unlike Lauren.

Personally i didn't like Lauren from her time on BBBOTS with Pete Burns, bitching about the HMs clothes and appearance.

But God forbid anyone should judge Lauren's clothes and appearance! They would get called Transphobic, right?

Some people just don't like Lauren. Deal with it. The whole point of BB is about who you do and don't like. It's a joke to grant some people a silly shield of invincibility from being disliked purely based on their gender/disablity/race/age whatever category you care to apply.
