Jury will begin 'considering their verdict' later today. Judge is summing the case up now.
I personally think he's had it.
As far as I can tell its just his word against hers, can't see why she would make it up though

This all sounds a bit odd........I could understand if he did assult her perhaps he is a sexual predator/Paedophile and if proved beyond a reasonable doubt then he should be locked up and the key thrown away..........HOWEVER why would he continue to assualt this girl time after time after time.....this makes him a monster, but wait actually he's a well loved very successful actor, no but he's a monster because he keeps attacking this young girl....????
Doesn't quite ring true....it doesn't quite add up...why would he keep doing this and only to this one girl ??
I'm not convinced there isn't a touch of the Michael Jackson's about this case. I think the thought of money, Civil lawsuits, compensation, Magazine and TV deals may come into this somewhere.
His word against hers with no real solid evidence........even after all those attacks ..No evidence, no clump of hair or anything that his DNA could be identified, no proof of sexual assult or rape again no DNA nothing...???
Interesting to see how this turns out !!!

Corrie bosses said they would have him back.
"In an emotional meeting, producers Kieran Roberts and Steve Blackburn hugged Michael and told him they would be supporting him.
The bosses expressed their dismay at incorrect claims that the actor had been suspended from Coronation Street over his forthcoming court *appearance.
They also revealed they have penned a major new storyline involving his character Kevin if he does walk free after his trial.
An ITV source said: “The producers met with Michael because they were concerned by the suggestion he had been cast aside by the show.
“Nothing could be further from the truth. Instead they told Michael, ‘You’ve not been sacked and you’ve not been suspended and we hope to see you back soon’. They also explained to him the details of a big new plot they hope Michael will be a part of in future.”"

Well I hope he can get his life back on track, falsely accusing someone of abuse and/or rape should be met with a severe sentence since accusations like that destroys lives and not just the life of the accused in question but their family's too.

Unfortunately every time there is something written about him in any paper or any mention of him in the media they will refer to this case every single time. You see it in the papers all the time, even when found not guilty or no evidence the media still drag it up time after time. They will ensure he is not free of it even though he is innocent. :nono:

There was no mention of a false claim, it may have been lack of evidence.

Well it looks now like Mr Levell has been a victim of a vicious ongoing attempt to label him and convict him of being a sexual predator/rapist..!!!
We might never get to the bottom of why this family decided to pursue these fantasist claims by this girl, why the CPS decided to prosecute and why it was allowed to goto court on such flimsy evidence.I can only imagine because he is a high profile actor he would bring them plenty of money in compensation and other newspaper/magazine deals if found guilty.
Perhaps he was a family friend ,perhaps he was drunk and made a pass at the girl or perhaps he spurned her mothers advances either way his life has been nearly ruined by this and although his career is safe some mud will stick to this Man.
I for one hope the anonymity this family have enjoyed is taken away and the whole family are publicly named and shamed. I also hope this teenage girl is charged with wasting police time......
Really feel sorry for Michael Levell for having to go through this ordeal...!!!!
Scarlett.

I think following the Jimmy Saville thing, there's been something of a frenzy of people reporting big named stars to the police. It's annoying because there might be an actual case among all these which is true, and it will be taken less seriously due to all of the false ones that have come up.

I think in cases such like this that the persons accused should also have a right to anonymity until proven guilty. They can also end up being the victims. There were arrests last week apparently when the girls name was posted on Facebook. If the media report on such things, and name the person involved, then I think they should face consequences too.

Right verdict IMO. I had a gut feeling he was not guilty, hopefully now he will be allowed to move on but there will always be a character stain on him sadly from this even when he has been cleared by the law...

The law is an absolute ass....The false accusers should stand trial against the state accused of perjury. Lets see if they can defend themselves. Any woman can accuse any successful man of all sorts of heinous things under the cloak of anonymity , she can then try and make millions. if all fails so what, shes still unnamed hes destroyed, she can try again in a few years too. imagine how awful it must be to be a half famous or successful man in this country now? Its a miracle they ever leave the house at all. any woman at any moment can make up a pack of lies to destroy their entire lives at any second of the day. the law is biased in favour of women here and must be changed to be equal and fair.

In defence of the CPS, they had to decide whether they thought there was a case to answer, and they thought that there was.
I agree that it's good to see a proper debate on the accused's right to anonomity, I'd also like to see the accuser named now that a not guilty verdict has been passed. Women who make allegations like this disrepect every women who's ever been through the horror of rape, and the horror of the resulting court case.

Speaking of historical sex abuse cases in general (not this specific case), in some cases, the crime may have indeed been committed, but denied by the accused, and lack of evidence, plus a plea of not guilty, may result in them being found not guilty and all charges dropped. If it became practice to reveal the name of the accuser in such instances, do you not think this could have a detrimental effect towards people coming forward in some cases? Some victims fear they will not be believed, but the further fear of reprisal, if a conviction does not happen, would surely be a deterrent to some?
It's a hard line between those who genuinely have been abused, and it cannot be proved, and those that go out to ruin someone's reputation and life for possible damages.
However, if it was proven that someone had made up such an abhorrent lie for their own personal gain, then I agree with you that the information of what they had done should be made public and their personal details revealed.
