What should happen to this Man ? , why is he released , why did he not get a whole life tariff so he will never be released after all be sexually tortured and murdered a defenceless child.

Even after second chances are screwed up..just keep giving chance after chance until someone else is killed. Rehabilitation over punishment :bored:

It's pathetic Vicky,it was supposed to be the case that if one of them ever offended again they would be recalled to prison,and serve their juste sentence,looks like that went out the window,he is a walking timebomb,God help our kids,if this is the type of person our system seems to feel is ok to be roaming around anonymous.

Well this is strange, I thought when he was recalled last time it was reported he was either going to get a life term or something like at least 10 years?
At least Thompson has moved on with his life and not reoffended, this man has serious psychological issues and should never be released.

Those who are responsible for his release have a lot to answer for. It's about time justice was served for the victims, families of victims and in the public's interests, not the interests and "rights" of the perpetrator.
Rehabilitation is all good and well in theory but how can you possibly rehabilitate 10 year olds boys who kidnap and brutally murder a toddler by putting them into prison for the rest of their formative years and then release them back into society expecting them to live normal lives? Jon Venables is clearly unfixable. I've yet to hear anything of Robert Thompson, having said that, so perhaps he has been reformed and maybe rehabilitation does work on some offenders... some people are just irreversibly damaged.

It is beyond all realms of decency that he has been released again and now with a 4th new identity too.
It isn't him who needs the protection it is others,especially children, who still after all this time,need protection from him.
A disgrace that he gets this pampering.

I think rehabilitation is great in principle but if you took the time to read the transcripts of the Bulger trial you would find it impossible to understand how two young boys could carry out such evil depraved actions on a 3 year old toddler.
Rehabilitation in this case is not an option as some people are just born evil. Now if that translates into a mental illness then sorry same diff they are irreparably damaged by this crime and should have been given whole life tariffs similar to Hindley and Brady.
As a Society in some aspects we are too soft and sometimes hard decisions have to be taken.
Failing that I hope their identities are leaked to the public and little James Bulger gets some form of Justice at last.
