I haven't started mine yet but I have started planning who to get for and what I might get but I haven't bought anything yet. I usually do that around mid November time

I've got some little gifts that I've spotted in sales and things. I have to be prepared between now and Christmas I've also got a million birthdays to buy for and then get gifts for them at Christmas so I buy things as I see them and put them away so I don't have to think too hard. I always have everything done before the end of November so I don't have to go near the shops in December....last minute Christmas shoppers are vicious

I agree with what you are saying about Christmas, it has become ever increasingly commercialised , however, putting aside the commercial angle to it these days, I like Christmas, I can't help it, it brings out the nicer side to people and can reunite families and friends and and gives you a push to also think about those less fortunate than yourselves and try to help them a little bit.

Buying Christmas presents throughout the year helps and thus you can avoid the spending of chunks of money nearer Christmas leaving you with some money for the sales then, it also avoids missing out on that special present you want to buy that tends to sell out because of December rush buying by many. As for food, buy what you enjoy not what you think you should because of the season, so less waste.
