Hey TIBB forum was just wondering if any past Auditionees have any advice for people auditioning this year?

Like what to expect in the audition process various stages?
Was it an enjoyable experiences? Previous contestants like BB7 Grace said they put you under pressure a lot and keep calling you back and fourth between your hometown and London.

What sort of people do they seem to chose the most?

Would it be a good idea to enter the house for BB15 right after my A levels?

Also anyone else auditioning? I will be 18 on the first week of March to audition.

I would enter when you're at least 21, it can have a negative impact if too young.

Never auditioned but know 2 c4 era auditionees.

Bare in mind c5 does seem to like media profile hm like dexter and gina. From what I can gather they are looking for in normal hms a ) quick witted personalities b) people with strong opposing opinions c) coping with tasks d) willingness to do sexy stuff.

A hm who can be in a quick soundbite summation e.g Sam is a 23 yo football deaf ladies man from Wales. They don't mind a couple of boring hms in auditions as they can be canon fodder eg charlie. Older hms have to be interesting eg "sex mad jemima" and porn star bb13 Benedict. They learnt lessons fro dull bb11 cougar Jo.

Just make sure you stand out.

I have never been to an audition and not gotten past the first stage which is pretty good considering they only put 2 or 3 through from groups at the first hurdle.

The first part is nerve wracking, you really have to sell yourself its all about 1st impressions.

You need to stand out, focus on the obvious outrageous one as there will allways be one and disagree with their opinion to make an argument to show you are not intimidated by strong people.

Basically just don't turn up and be stiff, boring or pointless.

Vodka also helps.

I have no audition experience. However, I advise lying a lot. That should do the trick.

Say you're argumentative.

They've changed things a lot since Grace's time or even when I made the finals; they cut basically straight to what used to be Round 4, so the video is more important than ever. From the ones that have been successful, don't bother doing anything "wacky"; just make sure you look good in front of a camera, can talk clearly and have an obvious personality.

Once you make it that far, it's mostly about keeping up the personality and hoping to be lucky enough to fit the cast they're looking to build that year. There's always a few "stars" they find along the way that are definites, but you're more likely to be cast if you fit the 'type' they're looking for that year or can bounce off someone else in the cast.

I would enter when you're at least 21, it can have a negative impact if too young.

Probably best to go on when you're a student nowadays; have your fun then grow up and get on with life.

I'm too old for this shiiiiit now :D

Good luck though. Fake as much as you can to be interesting, but not so much as you get rumbled in the house as you'll either get crapped on by production, like Aaron, or made to look like a lunatic, like Callum :joker:

I don't think I need to actually need to fake being interesting. I have done interesting things. Like being the most hated person on the internet at age 15 when a video went viral. etc All stuff like that. But I think I will need to be more argumentative as usually I am open minded.

I'm confused about internet auditions. It'll be my first time too but what stages are skipped due to no open auditions?

Did you watch the BB13 auditions documentary? They basically don't do those bits anymore.

It skips straight to the Top 250(or thereabouts?) meeting in London in groups of around 10. If you get a callback, ask and I'll PM you more info about that stage :)

A lot of the BB14 cast were recruited though, so the number of video callbacks is probably even smaller than ever. I don't remember any of their auditions vids being shown or found on Youtube this year? Or even on BBOTS?

No, I haven't seen it! Do you know where I can find it? And ah that's really kind of you - will do!

Yeah, I thought so too...depends what they're looking for that year I guess...

It's not on Demand 5 anymore and I couldn't find it on Youtube for you :(

It's called 'Big Brother: The Auditions' and it's basically a must-watch if you want to know what to expect as a first-timer.

There were 2 pre-BB9 auditions shows too; a bit more out of date, but still pretty revealing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-i6KMMf-Ko and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9md4c3j3TaI

Thank you! That was insightful  You said from youtube auditions you skip to about the top 200? That's a lot of stages compared to the open auditions...does that mean you don't have to do the 5 hour booklet? :spin:

It was massively shorter even back when I last did it (BB13) - only took me an hour or so.

"Top 200" was bollox, sorry; I was going off what one of my contacts said, but I forgot there was an initial callback stage in London & Manchester (bit like an invite-only version of BB12's) which had a couple of hundred people each :blush2:

Is it solely just YouTube auditions again this year?

Not sure. It was pretty much 60-90 seconds to impress them to be picked from like 10,000 people to only 500 put through.
Could be tricky.

Do they care if you go over 90 seconds...I have a lot to say

I'm not sure. I don't wanna give too much info away in mine as you might seem boring at the open aud.

I was a bit over and got through, but only by about 20 seconds or so.

If you submit a 5 minute video or something it's unlikely they'll watch it all, but who knows? I'm sure there's some they only watch the first 2 seconds of before they ignore them.

On paper Hm have it easier now, shorter audition process, media profile preselection, bigger prize , shorter weeks, less competition. However as c5 pre-determine the winner now from day 1 it's actually harder, neigh impossible (unless you are chosen one)

Don't think I can audition anymore haha.
You have to be 18 by February 2014.
Also my last test is around June 10th-15th
So maybe another time.

I think I would need to be guaranteed a place as a housemate to even think about asking to do the test by myself earlier for "special consideration"

Have opinions. Be interesting. Answer every question. Prepare yourself a bit beforehand with what you are going to say and do.
