You've seen the ads. Are they being misleading? UPS fibre band is twice as fast as Sky. Isn't that true?

Correct Mrluvaluva. Twice as fast as Sky.

Sky are trying to cheat their customers by implying they offer the same speed.

They always quote "up to" speeds, which are invariably a lot higher than most of us actually get. I actually think that BT have the faster speeds from what I have heard. The most expensive are not always necessarily better, and vice versa. A more reliable provider is what is needed, and one that will not kill your speeds at peak times. I'm with Sky, but wish I was with BT. You get all the usual spiel about your distance from the exchange etc etc. Fibre optic takes another installation from a call out engineer and another load of bother in my experience, plus more of a monthly fee. Sky have an offer for new customers at £10 a month for 6 months, and then £20 after. I'm not sure about other providers. If I had had a pleasant no-problems experience with Sky I would champion them, but I haven't. Maybe it's time for a change, but I have no experience of UPS.
