I have put my detective hat on. If there is poo on the floor it means the person was not sat on the toilet correctly. So, either they were hovering and lost balance or .... and this is a bit revolting...they were constipated and picking the poo out with their fingers and missed chucking it back in the toilet bowl. Disgusting thought. And as it has happened before, I can't help thinking the latter option is the correct one. Who is constipated?
