View Full Version : CBB and BBOTS DEMISE!

The past few days on the forum both CBB and BBOTS threads have had less than 10 people commenting in there. How sad is that and it must be bad for ch5 to look on here to get some idea of how their show is doing to then find no one is interested in their very expensive show enough to post a comment during it. I know die hard fans are online in here and to only see 7 or 8 people posting comments about the show as it plays live on tv is very sad and does not bear well for future shows at all. Ch5 are defo doing something wrong as the forum has shown recently. What do you guys think?

Just because people aren't commenting on a forum doesn't mean they aren't watching

This celeb version has been poor tbh but I loved the main version, one of the best ever imo. I just think the cast hasn't been good enough and also way too many "twists".

That is not my point. My point is WHY is this series of CBB not generating interest in here enough for people to comment as it plays live on tv. It's usually very active and lively but has dropped off these last few days to almost nothing. It's very strange to only have 7 or 8 commenting online out of the entire UK.

Not really much to chat about and half of the forum have weirdly vanished from the civilian series.

I think that is a factor as well, worn out from BB14.

Coming in straight from BB14 is definitely a factor, it was intense really, and nobody can be arsed.

Its usually one of the most talked about shows on Twitter daily.
TIBB means nothing.

Twitter is crap though. You can't follow the conversations. It's like trying to chat to the passengers on a Virgin Train as it speeds past you.

:) Couldn't agree with you more about Twitter. Waste of time!
I haven't commented much on the Forum this time round and it's not because I haven't been watching. I think the main show was great because it was Vote to Evict and would have preferred this to Vote to Save in the CBB version.

Its because its CBB nobody cares who wins including the housemates.

Hmm - I think it's more likely that the producers are softer on the celebs than the main show contestants and won't subject them to VTE as they'd find out how unpopular they are.

Apart from Lauren none of the HM's want to be there and this year it hasn't been fun watching people who clearly hate doing the show. They should prohibit the HM's in CBB from saying they want to leave...

They should prohibit the HM's in CBB from saying they want to leave...Its nothing new its only CBB! nobody has ever given a damn about it there are a few 5-6 gritty souls on here trying to care who wins but at least a couple of those are just people still feeling the burn from losing to king sam and trying to feel better about it by pretending care about who wins.
CBB has never matttered to anyone its just a sideshow.
Some of the best bits of CBB have been celebs being saved from eviction when they wanted to go home but even that has been taken away now with the moronic vote to save that is even less relevant than it was when they experimented with it in the main series.
Even the very first CBB was won by somebody that hated the crap out of it and wanted to go home so much they escaped from the house and were gone hours before returning.
People need to chill out and enjoy it for the freakshow that CBB has always been nobody cares who wins they get paid regardless.

im still watching, this series is at a much slower pace!
some people spend more time posting than watching the show.
I don't post for the sake of posting.
plus most post's are just stating the obvious and then another member will agree or disagree, so its pointless in most cases.

Being a new girl (OAP really) to this forum, I have really enjoyed the experience. I do watch the show and only post when I really feel strongly about issues.

I'm not as interested in this series, because it has come right after BB14 and a. I have college so I cba and I don't watch the LF now and 2. It isn't as good.
During BB I watched the main show, every bots all the clips online- for this CBB I just watch the main show and like 1 or 2 BOTS a week.

Lots of fm,s have left here due to tge severity of punishments being dealt out by mods that have issues with posters that don't like their Favs and there seems to be a fair amount if cyber warriors getting away with worse just because they are avid posters or are gay or transgender. It's got to be we can't post a view for fear of being hammered or jumped on for a pc or phobic reason. Maybe if a bit of latitude was applied the posters would come back. To test my theory try posting a thread against Lauren and see what happens.

The civilian BB this year was emotionally draining and people are just ploughing through CBB waiting for it to be over. I know that's how I feel, anyway. I felt the same last summer.
If you get really into BB (which ashamedly, I do!) It really kicks the rap out of you for 10 weeks. Its great but exhausting. And then theyre like "AND NOW get excited for 3 more weeks of different people!!" ... Its just not happening. I watch it because... Well... I always do, but I can't get as involved, its more just as a casual observer than actually getting stuck into it. It's a chore in the evening sometimes, rather than itching to watch it.
Really wish they would scrap Summer CBB... Main in summer and celeb in winter is the perfect amount...

I don't know - I actually think the moderation was a but lacking and people were saying some really vicious and distasteful things during the civi series. I personally believe in free speech and the right to state your opinion whatever it is - but that can be done without spewing bile and hatred all over every thread. It was like a mindless bloodthirsty mob half the time, just being hateful for the sake of it, and that's really offputting for anyone who actually wants a reasonable discussion on a forum. It really put me off the forum - not enough to leave, but that's probably only because I'm not currently active on any other forums and I've been a "forum user" for over 15 years.
Wouldn't know what to do in my lunch break if I didn't have a forum to browse :joker:

I just cba.
Im still supporting abz and Courtney but bb14 was just too intense and passionate.
TIBB world war 3 of callum fans and dexter fans made it that much interesting.
But with cbb i just dont find it interesting.
Only watched 10 mins of cbb last night, says alot.
When cbb is on, im usually posting on another part of the forum anyway lmao.

There are a few reasons which have already being suggested. For me personally, I am suffering BB fatigue and the series has gone on far too long. I really did enjoy the civie BB but then to air CBB straight after (bar a few days) was (is) a bit too much. I always look forward to CBB just after the New Year and it helps with the winter blues but the TV bosses have over done it by giving us too much of it. It is a case of 'same old, same old.'

Really, really bad editing by the BB team is partly killing the show. To show Abz looking at a spider instead of Lauren's funny Un-rhyming was a show killer. I haven't watched Channel 5 for 3 years because the adverts pop up in mid sentence during films. So this was Channel 5's chance to get me back, and all I have seen is a business, and not entertainment. I may leave Channel 5 for a few more years after CBB 12.

I agree. I also think that BB was very divisive and nasty. BB did this themselves to a great degree with the tasks. Did this echo around the forums?
