View Full Version : Carol lies about her "boyish figure" comment to Lauren

She told us that "she just forgets" IE forgets what she is saying sometimes, in regards to Lauren telling her that she didn't really like being told she had a boyish figure.

No surprise there then, Carol behaving true to form and not happy at openly bitching, makes out she didn't know what she was doing. Rubbish. She seems like an intelligent person to me, apart from being nasty of course, so usually knows what is behind what she says

and she seemed totally in control of herself when she came out with that comment on the couch with Lauren & Courtney.

So in control of when she said it that she turned to Courtney and said yeah I remember seeing a picture of her when she was a boy.

At first of course the usual excuse is trotted out by anyone who thinks they have the right to say anything they like IE I was only telling the truth.

Now Carol makes out she didn't even know what she was saying.

At least she didn't tell Lauren she looks a bit weird because that's what we are all thinking.

Odd that she'd try and cover it up by conveniently forgetting it.

Kind of a rude comment in general given that Lauren obviously wants to be known as a woman and legally is one. A valid point nonetheless though, no matter what she's done cosmetically, her figure is what it is, a boys.

Carol always makes excuses for the things she says...after the event. She has no problem asking really straightforward sometimes rude questions, yet if anyone dare ask her a personal straightforward question she gets very defensive. She can't on next woth other people on a compassionate level....her connection is through put downs and judgement.

She apologised, I saw it, and Lauren accepted that it was not maliciously intended.

Carol has to say the meanest thing she can think of to each housemate. Sometimes she has to back down to get away with it. In Lauren's case she depended on Lauren to not notice that she was backing down from an insult. Lauren did not take it to heart, Lauren did not notice that Carol backed down from her accusation with Sophie either. It is Lauren's good nature that lets Carol say what she wants.

Yes indeed, some of us forget that Lauren is so good natured and has such a warm and loveable personality and above all is SO ENTERTAINING that we tend to forget what a real bitch she can be when not trying to win CBB.

Only CBB counts. If Carol goes on a new show, and says that she no longer wants to be a bitch, she can win the next show instead.

When carol apologised about saying it and said she forgets...I took it to mean she forgets that Lauren is transgendered and so could take offence at a comment like that. As Kaz said a lot of women, many models, have boyish figures and it's to seen as an insult. Lauren needed to tell carol she felt offended but I do believe carol didn't mean it maliciously at all...

CaudleHalbard

Lauren accepted the apology quite happily.

I suspect that Lauren is actually quite pleased people forget about the transgendering.......... and this would far outweigh any offence taken about the 'boyish figure'.

I think Carol thought... "What's the worst thing that I could say to Lauren?" "That she looks like a boy." "But that will be seen on TV as very incorrect." "So I will say it, and then change it to boyish figure." "Then Lauren may blow up, and then she can't win."

That's how I read it.

I was quite shocked at Carols use of wording to Lauren that involved the words boy or boyish as this is clearly provocative bearing in mind Lauren's history and transgender background. I for one like carol very much but have to admit to being slightly shocked at her use of this type of language . I wonder if it was done for effect to upset and wind up Lauren perhaps to solicit a reaction.... Hmmmm

I'm not quite sure why she felt the need to make the comment at all, by all means think it but was it really necessary to say it out loud.

Lauren does have a boyish figure, as some people have already said. It wasn't mean as an insult, I'm sure. Surely people should be relaxed about Lauren and who she is, and not have to watch every single thing they say in case she's offended. Wouldn't that be far worse, if people were always on egg shells worrying about what they can and can't say? It's not like Carol made some kind of serious, thought-through phobic comment.

I,m sick & tired of people treading on egg shells all around lauren - she above anyone else knew EXACTLY what the show & contestants can be like & has spent years pleading to go in !she DOES have a boyish figure & also if anyone has seen her on cbbbots as a so called "fashion advisor" they would know she makes some awful remarks about the people & their clothes - I think she has a mental problem & shouldn,t have been allowed in in the first place - I doubt very much wether the house mates have any true feelings for her they just tolerate her in the nicest possible way

Yes she did. they were in the bedroom the next morning and Lauren came over to her and said she was a bit upset by her comment. Carol immediately apologised profusely. She meant that Lauren needed to eat more, which she is doing, to look more womanly and curvy, which Lauren also agreed with.Lauren isn't the shrinking violet that some make her out to be and confronts people when she is upset.

Oh give over!

If Carol had said that to someone like Sophie (who also has a boyish figure) no one would've batted an eyelid. There was no way Carol meant it in as an insult.

Just because Lauren has had a sex change doesn't mean everyone has to walk around on egg shells being careful about how and what they say in case idiots take it as insults!

Carol said she herself has a boyish figure... was she insulting herself as well then?

Let's all put Loopy Lauren on a pedestal and wrap her up in cotton wool in case the big, bad, mean world makes her upset.

Yes I agree with this. Lauren did tell Carol afterwards and then she patted Carol as a gesture of comfort to Carol. I don't think Carol deserved any comfort because she was rude and unkind saying that to Lauren. I was pleased that Lauren had a good long think about it (no knee jerk reaction) and then raised it a good while later.

Last night you were saying that Lauren had contact with a member of her family, there was no evidence last night. I said that my speculation was safe, because there was evidence of my speculation. Today there is evidence that Lauren spoke to her mom, I now go with that safe evidence. That is how science works. It is the correct way to do things. That is intelligence.

There was no intention of offending Lauren. She said she has a boyish figure because she is too thin and that if she gained some weight she would be more curvy, to which Lauren agreed. She (Carol) then went on to say (as I have already said) that she too has a boyish figure.

So there is no similarity and besides Sophie does have a trout pout and Lauren does have a boyish figure.

I actually think Lauren has quite a feminine figure, she has a small waist and she looked good in the dress she wore when she went in the house. I think for a transgendered person she is quite fortunate. I think if it wasn't for her height and very odd appearance she could go unnoticed.

I think what Carol said was pretty rude, I'm all for honesty but a unsolicited comment on someone's appearance really isn't necessary

what do you mean filtering my comments? Like I said earlier, I would never have said that in the first place because I could see how it may offend and I'm the sort of person who doesn't like to upset people, I think of others feelings before I speak. I just don't think the comment was necessary.
